My best football related moment in Bologna
Haven’t seen so many games in Bologna, so it’s quite hard to pick out any fantastic moment…. But except for seeing my dear Milan win there last season I must say that seeing the derby Bologna-Modena two years ago was really something special.
A fantastic atmosphere, with around 10 000 Modena-supporters in one of the curva, while the other one was packed with Bologna-supporters.
When the players entered the pitch the Modena-supporters took down 40-50 gigantic plastic stripes in yellow, which also formed black letters, that formed “B O L O G N A M E R D A”, meaning, in a quick translation “Bologna is ***”. They were probably hoping to make the Bologna-crowd furious, but the only reaction they got was a sarcastic laugh. People all over the stadium stood up and sarcasticly applauded their choreograph. It was a good choreograph, which probably took a lot of time to prepare, but just to see thousands of people raise and laugh at their try to offend the home-crowd was actually even better… :) Bologna then won the game too…
Collegio di Spagna
Collegio di Spagna (Spanish College) is the ornate 14th century palace which use to be the residence of noble Spanish students. Decorations on the front facade were made by Andrea da Formigine. I wanted to see the two beautiful courtyards and the chapel of San Clemente, situated inside the College, but unfortunatelly the whole palace was closed by the time of my visit.

Torre Asinelli from below
Climb the Torre Asinelli, the tallest of the many medieval towers that mark the Bologna skyline. The leaning tower was built between 1109-1119 by the Asinelli family. Entry costs EUR 3 and gives you the right to climb the 486 steps up the narrow, wooden staircase that winds up around the hollow interior to a height of 98 meters. You will wonder when the tower is going to fall over. Of course, it has survived 883 years so far.
