There isn't a female-only hostel in Bologna but with 300/400 € you can rent a room in a flat shared with other girls. Try here: http://www.easystanza.it/.
You can found announces also near the university or here an help: http://www.eng.unibo.it/PortaleEn/default.htm
Hi, Marco.

The two hostels that I am aware of include Centro Europa Uno, Via Emilina, 297, Savena, (email: centroeuropauno@hotmail.com); and San Sisto - Due Torre, Via Viadagola 5, 14 BOLOGNA(email: bologna@aighostels.com. I do not believe you will find what you seek, but you may want to contact either of the hostels for further information.

Travel Tips for Bologna

Walking in Via Zamboni

by Azhut

Via Zamboni is a tipical street in Bologna, full of people, especially students, because this street is in the University area. Every day at every hour you can see lots of people, strolling, waiting for friends, studying and drinking. Via Zamboni is the younges corner of this town and offers different kind of pubs open untill 2 a.m.

San Luca

by prleprle

The Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Luca is situated on the Mount Gardia. Built in the XI century and much enlarged in XIV and XVIII. The interior contains works of different masters but most important is painting of Madonna with Child (Greek painting from XII century) attributed to the evangelist Luca. The best way to visit this Sanctuary and place of pilgrim is by foot because there is great portico. The portico starts out from the Gate (Porta) of Saragozza and leads up to the Sancturay. It was built in XVII century.

New railway station

by darkjedi

Bologna is a natural crossroads between Continental Europe and the Mediterranean
basin. It is crossed by goods and people from Europe and the Mediterranean area. The
construction of the Milan-Bologna and Bologna-Florence sections of the High Speed (TAV)
railway is almost completed and a huge multi-level transport hub station is being constructed next to Bologna central station.

Japanese architect Arata Isozaki won the competition to design the new station which is expected to take six years to complete. This doesn't surprise me at all since every day I was in Bologna I crossed the rail bridge there and I have yet to see anyone doing any work.

Tamborini

by ChrsStrl about Tamborini

The exhibition of pasta making is followed by a good meal in what is usually a self-service restaurant. The dishes of food are enticing. In London it would be a very expensive place but here it seems run-of-the-mill The pasta!

Walk through the old city...

by wadekorzan

Walk through the old city center. The city center is compact enough that taxis are senseless. The beauty in Bologna is with you every footstep. Bologna truly stands out because of all of its renaissance arcades--perfect for a rainy day. And after dark, some of them, such as this, are incredibly illuminated.
