Ferrara Tourist Office Links

It is not so simple to know when a tourist site reopen after a reconstruction because sometimes delays could occur often due to older sites under the one existent.
Anyway I suggest you to keep a contact with Ferrara Tourist Office one week before your stay in Bologna on October.
I found these links:

A Lively city

What I loved about Ferrara was that it's an alive city. With many modern people, youth, movement, energy. It's not a desserted place or a place that would offer few monuments and silence. Nope.. There's something in the air..
Oh good old times!

Boys in Ferrara like it Medieval... Nooo, I'm joking! Anyway - medieval or not, they're just as open and kind (not to say good-looking!) as elsewhere in Italy. Enjoy their company (if a thing like that has to be said at all ;-))
Easy to find...

of course you need a city map to visit Ferrara. You can find it to the tourist office. But the easiest way to get it is to go to MC Donald's in front of the Cathedral, there you can have very usefull maps.

A tribute to an old favorite
by emmaryan about Trattoria Da Giacomino
Note: The Trattoria Da Giacomino ceased operations on December 30 1997. It is still listed here because it has served as a paradigm of a genuine trattoria.
Da Giacomino
Located on Via Garibaldi 135, just beyond the Piazza dei Sagrati as one walks away from the center of town. Closed Saturday. The proprietor is Giacomo Rizatti, who has been running the trattoria with Signora Rizatti for over 50 years. He is there to man the bar at lunch time, but the Signora is always there, to recite the menu, take the order, bring the food, and collect the bill at the end. She never makes a mistake. The food is invariably wholesome, sometimes excellent, like roast veal, roast rabbit, and tripe, as well as the cutlets (Milanese, for example, which is tender veal breaded and fried quickly). Sometimes they do their own dessert, with mascarpone and strawberries in season. You can also get the pasta filled with zucca (either pumpkin or squash depending on the biologist you talk to,) a Ferrarese specialty.
