"In northern Italy the twelfth part of the soldo was called already in the XIV Century 'Bagattino'. And it is the ancient memory of the glorious past, of the growing power and the splendor of the Este family that inspires the new BAGATTINO BED AND BREAKFAST" (brochure)
We stayed three nights in Ferrara at the Il Bagattino Bed and Breakfast and were quite pleased. It's location is excellent (very close to the Castle, the Cathedral, wonderful shops, and great restaurants).
There are six rooms with air conditioning, bar, television and fax. A delicious breakfast is served each morning with homemade pastries (delicious). The Bed and Breakfast is on the second floor and down the hall from the owner.
Our room was of medium size with a beamed ceiling of dark wood. The color scheme is blue and yellow with a tile floor. Antique furniture and a large closet room with a refrigerator and space for luggage and clothes plus four drawers. The Bathroom is also quite nice with excellent stand-up shower. There was an extra bed in the room. Modern paintings adorned the walls and there were two glass-topped end tables, Oriental rug, a chair with cushion that matched the bed's headboard.
We were given a card to put in the window of our rental car, and then we were shown where we could park. (Less than a block from the Bed and Breakfast.)
