Place to leave luggage at the Ferrara train station

by HenriettaStackpole

Could anyone please advise me about where I could leave luggage at the Ferrara train station? Are there lockers? Price? Is is secure?

Thank you!

The official Trenitalia website does not show any Deposito Bagagli (Left Luggage) services at Ferrara. Note that in Italy, lockers are seldom used anyway; the Left Luggage service is normally an manned office at the station.

One thing to try is to look up and contact Ferrara's Tourist Board to see what help they can be. Look at the city's tourism website at http://www.artecultura.fe.it/index.phtml?id=312
for a start.

Thanks so much for your prompt reply, Bill. I will contact the tourist office as you suggest.

It's the sightseeing route suggested by official site of Ferrara.
depending how you go it can take from 3 to 6 hours. We used a shorter one made on our own, but this thing might also be useful for someone.

Bicycles

by Mikebond

On the road at the entrance of Ferrara, under the panel with the name of the city you see another panel that says Città della bicicletta (i.e. "Town of the bicycle"). As I have written in other tips, Ferrara people move by bike very frequently and bikes can be a danger if you are not accustomed to such a big amount of them.
Anyway, moving by bicycle is a good and enviroment-friendly custom. If just they paid more attention to us pedestrians, we would be happier!

Via delle Volte

by Cristian_Uluru

Via delle Volte is probably one of the most interesting streets of the town. Along this street you can see many arches which connected the buildings of the two sides of the street. You can find this street on the left side of Corso Porta Reno toward the Cathedral.

Good food

by sweety76 about Testamento del porco

If you are staying at Hotel "Orologio" it is just outside around the corner. The hotel's staff will give you directions. It is a very good "trattoria" for this area. Nice to have lunch here and enjoy a good meal before leaving the city. Good chef ! Pasta was good and the deserts, too.
