Galla Placidia Bed and Breakfast

I stayed with a friend at Galla Placidia B&B based on the recommendation on Virtual Tourist.

It was absolutely perfect. The place was extremely clean and Gabriella was really friendly (but as the review said - non intrusive) She was very patient with my limited Italian and we had a great conversation. I was sad to only stay for one night.

The only heads up I'd give is that the two single beds in the 'yellow room' are each quite small. They were just fine for us - but be preapred for a bed that size of a small cot.

Other than the place was perfectly located, on a gorgeous street, there is a great restaurant underneath and a good cafe around the block.

Unique Quality: It's a very small place and there are only 4 rooms. There is a stunning view of San Vitale out the front windows.

Directions: If you are carrying a lot of stuff - take a taxi from the train station. I wouldn't have wanted to walk...

The location is in the historic centre of this lovely town. The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean, with its own private terrace with a view of San Vitale across the pantiled roofs. Strongly recommended.

Unique Quality: Gabriella, the landlady, was charmingly friendly and helpful but unobtrusive, and her exceptional breakfasts - beautifully presented with fresh local and home-made produce - were a delight.

Directions: In the historic centre of the city.
