Warm and Relaxing Stay in February
My third stay at Casal Dei Fichi but first in winter (Feb 2008) .
A great location to do as my wife and I did : walked on the beach (about 25 mins away) ; investigated the local fascinating hill top towns where we drank coffee, ate cakes and took in the views; shopped in nearby towns of Maceratta and Mogliano; ate in the friendly village restaurant (very reasonable prices) and then on the last day drove up into the mountains to take a look at the snow and ski-lifts (about 50 minutes drive). Accomodation is warm, spacious, comfortable and sylish. The British hosts are very welcoming and are happy to advise on where to visit, eat-out etc. Will return again soon.

Fantastic Relaxation and de-stressor
Ken and Sue from West Wales
We spent a week at beautiful CDF in June after a very stressful house move and it did the job! We relaxed immediately in the cool of the luxurious apartments and reading alongside the pool, dipping in and out every time we felt a bit too hot - but the occasssional hill breeze was wonderful. We have been watching progress over the last couple of years on the web blog and we could not believe how beautiful the place was on our arrival - well done to both - they have done a wonderful job. The stunning, gold and green hillsides and beautiful surroundings were a real treat to the eyes and the birds chirpping and tractors bringing in the hay was a delight to the ears. Bob and Ian were wonderful hosts, availbale but informal and at a distance. We loved making our own pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven and the Italians we found to be warm friendly and tolerant always - and of our inability to speak the language! We didn't do much except relax so next time (soon I hope!) we'll explore more of the surroundings. We just missed the sunflowers alongside CDF but the pots, window boxes and gardens are looking lovely. Until next time...
Truly unwind at Casal Dei Fichi
We had not experienced such wonderful views ever. The setting is fantastic and even when lazing by the great pool you feel you are doing something, taking it all in.
Our apartment was clean and had evrything one could need.
The owners were great fun and extremely helpful and we enjoyed pizza night - although pizzas back home will never taste the same! A big thank you.
The surrounding area is beautiful with pretty little hill-top towns and some great restaurants - our favourite being in Mogliano.
Would recommend it to anyone.
This is a great place to explore Marche
Ian and Bob are the perfect hosts at this little gem of a refurbishd farm house in Marche, Italy. If you have never been to this region and are considering doing so, this is the perfect getaway location for you.
The apartments are finished to a high standard and well appointed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. With fantastic views over the local scenery and a swimming pool a mere step or two away, what more could you ask for? Home grown produce from the garden is available for you to pick as you need or the local villages provide all you need. The 'do your own pizza night' was a fantastic evening enjoyed by all and a culinary experience for those who think Pizza Hut is the epitomy of this dish.
There is plenty of room to enjoy a quiet, private and peacfull time in this magnificent sunny location while enjoying a glass of the local wines and foods.
We very much enjoyed our stay last week and took adavantage to explore as much of the region as possible. We highly recommend it to you.
Have just spent a very relaxing week at the CDF. You would need to go a long way before finding better self catering accommodation in Le Marche. The apartments are very comfortable, very well equipped and spotlessly clean and with lovely modern bathrooms. The owners, Ian and Bob, are great hosts who are always willing to give you a helping hand if needed. The pizza evening was fun and a great idea to "break the ice" with other guests. Missing lazing by the pool already ......
Sunny days,sunflowers and stunning scenery
. We have stayed in various properties in Italy but this takes some beating. If you are looking for a peaceful location where you can do as you please then this is the place for you. This converted farmhouse has everything you need including a well proportioned swimming pool with stunning views. The apartments are well equipped so if you want to stay in you can. Try visiting the local supermarket and practise your Italian. Or eat out at the local restaurant where you are told what the menu is for the day in Italian which is quite a laugh. People here are friendly and helpful particulary if you struggle with Italian as we do.
Bob and Ian really take a genuine interest in you without being too intrusive , the ideal hosts.
So if you've not been to this area of Italy before try it out.
You will not be disappointed and may find (like us and many others) that you want to return again and again.
Bob and Ian are excellent hosts and work hard to ensure that you enjoy your holiday. The accommodation is spacious and very well equipped. The area is very attractive and seems relatively unspoilt by tourism and gives a taste of rural Italy.
An wonderful place for a relaxing holiday.
A great stay!
We have just returned from a great week at Casal dei Fichi. Bob and Ian really ''got" it right. They have taken the perspective of the guest in all respects. 'What would I like when I would rent an apartment for a country holiday?' And have set out to realise that. Lovely, spacious apartments with all the comfort of home, no camping between walls. A lovely garden and a great pool, in the middle of the beautiful countryside of the Marche, with the views that go with that. Welcoming hosts, but also 'laid back' like friends. And two dogs, Balzo and Hattie, to greet you enthousiastically, but never annoy you. We have rented holiday lodgings for many years, but they have set a new standard for us. Hard to beat probably, better just get back next year.
C & I, Holland
We had a lovely week at Casal dei Fichi. The apartment was spacious and very elegantly furnished. Bob and Ian provided an extra bed so that the apartment could accommodate all 5 of us. We loved the views and enjoyed going to the beach (about 1hour to wonderful coast line - less to rather bland beach).
An Exquisite Stay
Our week at the Casal dei Fichi could not have been better. The landscape is stunning and restful, especially when viewed from the terrace of the Leopardi unit (or from the beautiful pool deck). The hosts, Bob and Ian, take care of every necessary detail, and the apartments are thoughtfully designed and perfectly equipped. The Casal offers a base for a wide range of explorations: mountains, hill-towns, deserted abbeys, and stunning beaches. What is most remarkable, however, is the experience of returning each evening to such a beautiful and comfortable place.
