San Girolamo: San Girolamo (monastary/hotel)

The front desk service was excellent and the rooms were quite well appointed. The hotel itself was made from a section of a monastary (another part of which is adjacent to the hotel and still working as a monastary).
The breakfast is a buffet type and adequate, but nothing to write home about.
We had only one problem while there......we arrived in the middle of a heat wave and while the air conditioning worked, it was inadequate to cool of the room in the middle of the day. Our problem was that we left the air conditioning to run all day so as to cool off the room, but the room service would close it each day and when we would come back after a day of touring, it was stifiling hot. It took several hours to cool off to the point where we could sleep. Even though we requested that they leave it operating, I guess it did not work because each day was the same, come back to a overheated room.

No pool here, but as I said the hotel is quite beautiful and the there is a plesant garden outside which is great for doing some book reading before lunch or dinner. The price was slightly higher than we usually are willing to pay, but Asli and Lorenzo assured us that it was a decent price for the center of Ferrara, so we went with it after they reserved the rooms for us. Thanks Alsi and Lorenzo for finding a wonderful spot for us.
