Be Warned!

OK so to be honest, before the end of our stay we thought this place was great; good location- across the road from the beach and few minutes walk to the centre, decent rooms- though expensive for what they were, there was small balcony and overhead fan, and adequate, though again expensive for what it was, breakfast. For our 5 days the owners who run the front desk were polite and very helpful with adequate English (everyone else on the island seems to just speak Italian and German but this wasn't a problem).
However, what happened on our last day pretty much ruined the trip for myself and partner and left me very upset- when we came to collect our bags to leave for the airport we were accused of breaking the shutter on the balcony door- which we had not touched during our stay. the owners were shouting at us and behaved in a very aggressive manner and did not listen to anything we were trying to say and demanded we pay for the damage. the way they went about this was extremely unprofessional and threatening, telling our taxi man we could not leave till we paid. in the end i was so upset by all this and the way they went about it i told my boyfriend to pay just so we could get out of there.
Grado is such a beautiful place that for the price of this hotel I would say find somewhere else to stay so you do not risk your trip being ruined by the chance of something similar happening to you!!
