The sober and elegant furnishing is very beautiful and in the panoramic restaurant on the 4th floor of the building they served exquisite fish and meet dishes of the finest italian cuisine.
The Hotel is located in the exclusive Barcola district, five minutes from the city center and has a modern fitness „Greif Club" centre with swimming pool, steam bath, sauna, whirlpool and solarium
Greif Maria Theresia Hotel: Fabulous seafood at reasonable prices

This is a great little hotel in Barcola, a 10 min. bus ride into Trieste.
We used the pool quite a lot, but the best thing here is their 4th floor restaurant overlooking the sea. The fish is wonderfully prepared at very reasonable prices.

The hotel bills itself as a five star establishment. It certainly warrants four elusive stars, but five is pushing it a bit. The location is Barolo, which is a couple of miles out of the centre. There are private beaches (if you can call a pile of stones that), but nothing exclusive to the hotel. The place says that it has sea-views. Now, my office has a sea view if you ignore the multi-story car park and the fish processing factory - but I don't look at it much. In the same way the rooms look out over a busy road and an ugly concreteish building before the Adriatic takes centre stage.
Rooms are well furnished, but not exactly cutting edge - more swirly curtains and tassels than anything else.
To be fair, the public rooms are well presented, and the staff amenable. If you can get a good discount then it's worth staying here, but a more central choice may be more preferable.
