Could anyone please tell me how often the buses run from trieste to porec in croatia . And also is it possible to get a bus to dubrovnic , or would it be better by train ? . We came over to trieste in may , and found it to be a fantastic place , specially the tender bar for some reason . So hopefully making the journey over again in july , but hope to venture into croatia for a few days . . All help will be appreciated

Sorry about the massive delay in responding but thankyou very much for the info . Flights booked for end of may 2011 . Spending a night in trieste then eight nights in croatia , then back to trieste for another night . Thanks again
Piazza dell Unita d’Italia.
The present set up of the Piazza dell Unita d’Italia dates back to the nineteenth century. Avast rectangle overlooking the sea, the piazza contains the Town Hall at its far end.
Nineteenth century buildings line up the two sides of the piazza.
This little Romanesque church was built in the 11th century. Today it is owned by the Elvetic and Valdese Comunity.
It is located is Piazza San Silvestro; not far from Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia.
Down by the waterfront The Piazza dates back to the 19th century and is a huge square overlooking the sea. Here you will find the Town Hall (pictured), at the far end, and down both sides are the Palazzo Modello, the Casa Stratti (cafe), the Palazzo del Governo (government building), the Lloyd Triestino palace and the Palazzo Pitteri. In the center is the Mazzoleni fountain built in 1750 and representing the 4 continents known at that time.
The huge church of St. Antonio Taumaturgo stands at the top of Piazza St. Antonio Nuovo. This noteworthy Neoclassic construction, planned by Pietro Nobile, was consecrated in 1849. The whole building looks very attractive, in particularly the main entrance and the cupola on the top of it.
When strolling inside the city streets you might get impression of being in the continental town, Austrian kind for instance. In fact, until the end of WW I, Trieste was a part of K und K monarchy, being its biggest commercial harbour. Many buildings in the city centre reminds on it.
