The best place to start a honeymoon...

by A TripAdvisor Member

What can I say but WOW. The Furore Inn resort, went beyond our expectations and impressed as so much we're planning to go back for a long weekend on our 1st anniversary!!

The hotel is family run and I must make a special mention of Steffan who runs the catering side of the hotel and his girlfriend Tania. They are the most accommodating, friendly and professional people we have ever met in a hotel. I'd also like to mention Alfonso the Wine expert, boy does he know his stuff!!

This hotel was 100% the best start to our honeymoon, it's tranquil and relaxing, beautiful and romatic. The pool area is stunning, the restaurants are amazing, especially the Italian Touch restaurant. On our last night we dinned in the Italian Touch restaurant and had the tasting menu. It was best meal we have ever had!! It was FANTASTIC. The second week of our honeymoon we stayed in the Capri Palace whose restaurant has a michelin star and in our opinion the food at the Furore Inn was far better than at the Capri Palace.

Fantastic!

We have stayed for a week in this hotel, and we were absolutely excited about the place. Fantastic view, very kind and friendly staff, two very good restaurants, delicious cocktails. That was not our first visit to Amalfi coast, and we know several very good hotels and a lot of restaurants, but we should really say, Furore Inn was a right choice.

The rooms are not so spectacular, but actually very convenient. Anyway, we have heard that they are going to refurnish the rooms, so we are sure, that will be also exciting experience.

Best Hotel Bar and Staff on the Amalfi Coast

Just returned from an extremely relaxing week at the Furore Inn. SIMPLY AMAZING. The staff and service of the hotel rival any 5 star resort or hotel in the states.

COOKING CLASSES -- I attended a culinary program the duration of the week with 4 others and Chef Patricia Bottone (fabulous!) gave us cooking lessons each morning at the resort's state of the art facility. My understanding is that any guest may arrange a cooking class, even if not part of a culinary program. Highly recommend this, the menu each day is based on what is local to the region so the seafood dishes were of course all very fresh. Tania (hostess and interpretor) was essential to our lessons and extremely knowledgeable.

ACCOMMODATIONS -- I had a room with one of the largest terraces at the resort. Impeccable view of the water and 3 amazing swimming pools at the resort (1 olympic size, 1 fountain pool, and 1 infinity pool). My terrace was very private and would highly suggest for any couples coming to the resort -- very romantic at night. The rooms are nice and the bathrooms have the most gorgeous tile and spa tubs.

HOTEL BAR -- I would love to name each of the people who made our stay so enjoyable but absolutely MUST write at length about Ivan, Bar Manager, and Francesco, quite possibly the best bartender on earth. Furore is relatively quiet at night and unless you have your own car or scooter, there is not much to do in the evenings. My group was a bit rowdy so it became essential to have an excellent Hotel Bar and bar staff and you cannot do any better than Ivan and Francesco. They are absolutely FANTASIC and make an excellent team together. They create their own inventive drink recipes (try the Amalfi Dream made with local limoncello and cream) and they can suggest or make anything you want. Upon arrival Francesco made me the most delicious peach and watermelon daiquiris, perfect for when you are lounging by the pool. Everything is fresh -- Mojitos are made with mint that Ivan and Francesco pick from the hotel grounds. Finally, every time I asked Francesco to suggest a drink he came back with something unique, delicious, with the martini glass garnished so beautifully I wanted to take a photo. And the non-alcoholic drinks are equally as good!!! I can honestly say without Ivan and Francesco my group would not have enjoyed our stay nearly as much as we did.

Absolutely recommend Furore Inn. The weather in September was perfect for relaxing by the pools, enjoying the resort's spa facilities, and visiting nearby Ravello, Positano, and Amalfi during the day.

We have just returned from our Honeymoon in Italy. We started it with 6 nights at Furore Inn based on the reviews of this site, so expectations were very high. I can truthfully say that all of these expectations were far exceeded and if anything the reviews don't do it justice. You really do have to experience it for yourself. The place is amazing! The service was faultless, friendly, quick, efficient and discreet. The cleanliness and presentation of the hotel was also faultless. The views from the pools were just amazing and great for chilling out. With only 22 rooms in the hotel and visiting near the ned of the season, we felt like royalty and as if we had the whole place to ourselves. Nothing was too much trouble and we were also given an upgrade on arrival. The food in the restaurant was also excellent, as was the wine list. We only ate in once and there is also a good selection of trattoria style restaurants in the near vicinty. I spend much of my time away on business throughout Europe and the US and I do become weary of hotels so it is always a challenge for us to find somewhere nice for our holidays. I can definitely say that the Furuore Inn is up there with my favourites and I don't think I have stayed anywhere nicer. Although there is not much within walking distance of the hotel, this just adds to the charm and tranquility. The hotel is also ideally located within 15 mins by car from Amalfi town and only 50 mins by car from Pompei and Vesuvius.

Oasis of tranquillity

We entirely agree with all the other positive and complimentary comments made by the previous reviewers. Although the hotel is off the beaten track and not the easiest to find, it is well worth it for the wonderful views and feeling of luxury once you arrive.

The service, facilities and food are all excellent and we had superb dinners on the terrace from both restaurants especially the new gourmet Italian Touch restaurant.

Alfonso, the general manager, Stefano and Tania all looked after our every need.

We hope they continue their success in refurbishing the hotel and grounds and certainly look forward to returning in the near future.
