by Chuck_Cotten I have 2 great hotels for you. The first was believe it or not, the Best western in Naples also known as the Hotel Paradiso located on Via Catullo #11. Its at almost the top of the hill above the Mergellina. Good restaurant with hit or miss service but the room views are great (see picture) and there is a nice cafe just across the street that has great pastry and other snacks you can bring back to your room and have on the balconey. 2nd Hotel is in Camigliatello Salano - Spezzano Sila called the Hotel Aquila & Edelweiss $ 140.00 US per night for Aquila & Edelweiss and $ 135.00 for Hotel Paradiso in Naples
Easy to walk to shops and places to eat around the hotel. Set in the forest, its quiet and nice an clean. Theme: HotelComparison: less expensive than averageDirections: The Hotel Aquila & Edelweiss is a cute littel family run hotel in the forest around Camigliatello Salano. You can tell this place fills up with the tourists in the summer months but when we were thereOther Contact: Info on Best Western is located

I really dont care much about lodging but you can relly find nice places in Italy for small amount of $$ about 25 to 100 lire
The best thing about the lodging in Italia was the fact that I always had a great nice window...and thats enough for me (: Theme: HostelComparison: less expensive than averageDirections: Every where!!!! I used the references from 'Let's Go' very good book!

Hotels maybe as cheap as a Hostel in any other european country. You should make reservations before arriving to a big city or you may run into problems finding beds availables.
Cheap (compared to other european countries). Private Bathroom. Very Clean. Theme: Pension/GuesthouseComparison: less expensive than average

Duomo by Radiomom Hotel Casci (pronounced 'Cah-shee') 280,000 lira for a double. Public parking is nearby at 20,000/night Valet parking (after our harrowing drive in we jumped at this as if we were native Los Angelenos) 40,000/night Laundry service, 17,000 lira and up (The desk gives you a bag which you leave at the desk by 9:30am. It is on your bed, warm and folded by 6PM. Pay in cash) Sorry about all the old prices in lira -- but updated rates are found on their website.
About two blocks from the Duomo. Valet Parking (you try driving into Florence someday!) Laundry service (if you pack light, this is really a luxury) Wonderful breakfast Very personal service - knowing it was our 25th, there was a bottle of sparkling wine in an icebucket with two glasses upon our arrival!

Inside it's quite luxurious! by Radiomom 250,000 lira per night for double, but off-season and shoulder season internet specials bring prices down (we paid 200,000). Now that the Lira is out, use the $ amounts shown below to guage costs. Apartments are priced higher. Stays of a week or more reduce the per-night price. This place is well-located and would be an excellent base for exploring Siena and much of Tuscany.
Ancient castle turned into a fabulous B&B and tourist apartments. They got me with the views, and made me forever a fan with the jacuzzi tub in that huge bathroom! Beautiful antique furniture, super-comfortable bed. Romantic setting. Lovely pool for summer months. Perfect for anniversary or honeymoon trip. Piazza Navona - 2 min away by Radiomom Location Location Location --- although you have to find it first! It a couple blocks from Piazza Navona, toward the river.
Terrific staff, lovely breakfast room, comfortable lobby rooms with multi-language papers, magazines, etc. The location is perfect -- you can walk to everywhere from here. Prices were still in Lira when we were here, but we paid about $145US for a double in May. Family suite available with 2 bedrooms/1 bath. Air conditioned, all amenities, good size showers! My sister stayed in a single -- the bedroom was really tiny, I think the bathroom was bigger (well, it was a pretty big bath). I expect that the up-to-date rates are on their website. It really was a lovely place to stay in Rome Theme: HotelPrice: US$120-180 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: that's for a doubleDirections: Vicolo del Leonetto, 23 Rome (North of Piazza Navona, South of Piazza Nicosia)Website: http://www.hotelduetorriroma.com/ Other Contact: Tel. Front Door by Radiomom This review was written after our trip in 2001. Since that time, Esmeralda has opened a guesthouse outside of the city. (you will find it at the email address below.) I do not know if the in-town location is still operating as a B&B but you might write to find out....or stay outside the city as if it is anything like this place was, it will be wonderful. I believe the current rate is around 78 Euro for a Double room.
Our room was delightful. Just outside the door there was an entrance from the hallway to the front balcony...which is planted with all kinds of flowers and fruit. A beautiful spot for a glass of wine before dinner in the evening, or after for that matter, before retiring. The bathroom was large and comfortable (and had a great view!) with an excellent shower, plenty of hot water, and big fluffy towels -- bath sheets, in fact! You can view through plexiglass, windows in the living room floor that show how the house links up to the ancient sistern through one, as well as a passage that leads to the opera house through the other. The breakfast room is cheerful, and Esmeralda's mother is as friendly and helpful as she is -- although she speaks much less English. She was typical of many wonderful people we met throughout our trip -- they will find a way to communicate with you. While we only stayed for two nights, I really felt like I'd made a friend in Esmeralda. Sometimes you just connect with people. This was the perfect place to start our visit to Italy. Maybe that is it--suddenly it changed from a trip to a visit.
