Civitavecchia - our portaal to Rome
"Civitavecchia"
Civitavecchia is the seaport for Rome, Italy. The city is about 1 hour 10 minutes from Rome's Termini Station by commuter train.
The port of Civitavecchia was originally founded by the Roman Emperor Traiano as the gateway to the city of Rome, and it is still referred to as the ‘Port of Rome’ although it is located around 60 kilometres away. It is the central hub for all maritime traffic going through the area, and has recently incorporated an up-to-date transport system linking with railways, motorways and airports to help passengers continue on their journey.
The harbour is also integral to the areas tourist industry in helping visitors access the capital city and the rest of the Mediterranean. It is one of the most popular destinations for luxury cruise liners touring the region.
