Hi I am going to stay in Fuiggi in Italy in a couple of weeks. Each day I intend travelling to differnt place. I need to know how to catch the train from Fuiggi to the following, please give rough price
FROM Fiuggi to Rome
FROM Fiuggi to Sorrento
FROM Fiuggi to Amalfi
thanks
There are no railways from Fuiggi according to ViaMichelin http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/gbr/tpl/hme/MaHomePage.htm

Jesper, the OP mispelled "Fiuggi" in the message text here...well, actually, the OP spelled it two different ways ;-)
OP, if you use "Fiuggi" as the spelling and go to the trenitalia website as Jesper suggested, you will find rail solutions for Rome. Note that the station is "Anagni-Fiuggi" (it's not uncommon for smaller towns to share stations).
However, this isn't going to work for Sorrento and Amalfi, because Trenitalia, the national rail service, doesn't go to either place...but keep reading.
First, for Sorrento - you will need to take trenitalia to Napoli Centrale (main train station), then switch to the Circumvesuviana line (a private railroad whose station is downstairs or next door or whatever) to go out to Sorrento. This is not terribly complicated, unless you're not expecting it. Please see pages of people like lacristina and others (look at who answers questions in the Sorrento forum) for tips on how to use the Circumvesuviana, or search for it in the Naples or Pompei or Sorrento forums.
Second, for Amalfi - trenitalia will tell you that there is a station for Amalfi called "Vietri sul Mare/Amalfi" - ha, it's a good 15 kilometers away from Amalfi on a busy winding road. And if you ask trenitalia, it gives some some convoluted 5 hour solution. Fooey.
It will be "easier" to get to Amalfi by bus. Look for the Amalfi forum and see if people have made postings about bus service here (I am sure they have). For example, there will be buses from Salerno to Amalfi, but the rail solutions from Fiuggi to Salerno aren't that great either. Hmmmn, well, take the bus or a ferry (!) from Sorrento over to Amalfi. Actually, look here for ferry services (i.e., search the Amalfi or Sorrento forums for "ferry"), because it won't be that hard to get to Sorrento, and the ferry ride (I believe there is one) should give you a very nice view of the peninsula.
In any case, I expect several of my compatriots to pop in soon, and add some more meat to this answer...;-)

Oops, I see that Jesper gave you the viamichelin.com website (great for mapping and planning auto routes) instead of the trenitalia website as I had thought, which is www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html ...

There is 21 km from Anagni-Fiuggi railway station to Fuiggi according to ViaMichelin http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/gbr/tpl/hme/MaHomePage.htm
Jesper
Yep, I guess that doesn't surprise me that it's 21 kilometers. However, since it is listed on trenitalia, that means that there is certainly local bus service from Fiuggi to the train station...
Here it is...COTRAL is the bus company for Lazio, and it has service from Fiuggi to the train station - which is actually on the other side of Anagni from Fiuggi (well, that wasn't very convenient, huh?). The trip takes 35 minutes, and there are a number of departures a day, such as:
Depart.....Arrive.Duration
06:05 alle 06:40 00:35
06:55 alle 07:30 00:35
07:40 alle 08:15 00:35
09:00 alle 09:35 00:35
10:45 alle 11:20 00:35
12:45 alle 13:20 00:35
13:50 alle 14:20 00:30
14:50 alle 15:25 00:35
15:35 alle 16:10 00:35
16:45 alle 17:20 00:35
17:45 alle 18:20 00:35
(and probably later ones)
Of course, there will be about an equal number of buses from the station back to Fiuggi. I see that the latest one is at 21:40.
In any case, not so convenient as we would like, but doable. If you read Italian, the website is www.cotralspa.it .

The timetable www.cotralspa.it is also in Italian.
Jesper
The timetable www.cotralspa.it is also in English.
Jesper
Hey, they're updating the site even as we speak, er, type. An hour ago, the timetables section was only in Italian and the English button didn't work, but now it's in English(!)...keep up the good work, Jesper!
