Free Parking, Garden, Terrace Breakfast

We really enjoyed staying at Mille Quattrocento Bed and Breakfast in Gaeta. From the ancient architecture, the canopy bed, the large room, the arched doors, the beautiful garden, free parking, terrace breakfast, and the awesome view from our room, we cannot say enough good things about it.

The young man who served us breakfast was so kind. I wanted a photo of him. His reply was, "Do it with the side showing because it's my best side. And then he smiled that terrific smile.
He then took a photograph of Allan and I on the terrace.

Speaking of that terrace; Allan hung his wash there to dry and also in our room on the rails of the canopy bed!

We were pleased that they had a place for our car to park, off the street. It was under the arbor in the garden, and this area was locked at night.

The only noise that we heard at night [really, early morning] was the bells from the bell tower next door. It was a one-way street and so there was not a great deal of traffic.

The bed was quite beautiful with blue sheer material wrapped elegantly around the rails of the canopy. It was not only beautify but firm and comfortable.

Unique Quality: I wish I had more room [perhaps in a travelogue] to show you all the beautiful garden at this Mille Quattrocento bed and breakfast.

It was serene, beautiful, and quite private. There were lovely white furniture, pots plants and small trees and lemons hanging from one tree. There was a grape arbor, hedges, and flowers. What more could anyone ask for when staying at a bed and breakfast for 60 Euro. We were amazed.

Lovely Bed and Breakfast in Gaeta

Another benefit of walking around a city on a daily basis is to discover..for instance, as Allan and I were wandering around an area in Gaeta that we had never seen, Allan saw a sign on a doorway. He investigated, and it was a Bed and Breakfast. We rang the bell, and a handsome young man came out. He asked if we wanted to see the rooms; of course, we agreed.

Once we saw the rooms and knew that the price, including breakfast, was 60 Euro, we wanted to stay here. So, we cancelled our last night at the other hotel, and stayed our last night in Gaeta at the Mille Quattrocento.

See next tip for picture of ourside, the garden, and more

Unique Quality: Our room was quite large and had ceilings that were at least 16 feet tall!
The woodwork was incredibally gorgeous, and I just loved the arched doors. We had the canopy bed, two dark-wood closets, and table [whcih came in handy when Allan was mapping out our trip back to Rome Airport], a hallway, and a nice bathroom [with a great window with incredible views of the Bay of Gaeta!] Because of the hallway, we had two doorways [one from our bedroom to the hallway, and one from our private hallway to the main hallway].

Our room was on the top floor on the corner so it had two windows. We could see the bay, a church tower next door, and the steep street leading to the Bed and Breakfast.

It was an interesting walk down to the ancient center [we certainly got our exercise].

Mille Quattrocento was a quaint, romantic Bed and Breakfast that we will cherish for all time.
