wheelchair at Termini

by JackAssainte

I'll be arriving at Termini by train from the South. It seems like a long walk to the front of Termini where the cabs are. How do I get a wheelchair? Are there cabs at the south side of Termini?

If you contact http://www.bestlimosinrome.com/ they can meet you with a wheelchair and take you anywhere you want to go. I have used them several times and they are so couteous and prompt that I won't use any other service in Rome. It is more expensive than a cab but you have peace of mind and first class service to boot.

Travel Tips for Rome

Piazza Navona.

by oneonta_ni

This is one of my better half's favourite places to wander around. It features two lovely 17th century fountains by Borromini and Bernini and is surrounded by 16th century palaces. There are some nice shops and trendy (read: expensive) cafes along with the usual buskers and pickpockets. It is a nice place to visit in the evening time, too.

churches: San Teodoro

by tompt

This little round church dates back to the 6th century, it is dedicated to the Greek soldier martyr St Theodore of Euchaita, who lived in the 4th century.
The mosaics in the aps are from the 6th century. The florentine dome is from the 1400's.
Because of the round shape it is thought that the church was built on the ruins of a temple.

The church is rebuilt and restored several times. And when we visited another restoration was in progress. And we could not go into the church.

Normally the church is closed to the public. But if you are lucky you will find the church open on sunday morning for Mass.

LCC Ciampino transfer

by shirez

Ciampino can be reached by not only the Terravision bus!!

-public bus. Public transport operates between the Center and the Airport and the Termini Train Station and the Airport. To Termini It takes 40-70 min according to the traffic and costs 5 EUR. Departures every 2 hours (i know exactly the afternoon: leaves Tremini at 4pm, 6pm, levaes Ciampino at 5pm, 7pm)
-shuttle bus. (have to figure out more of it, i didnt use it, only saw)
-taxi costs about 50 EUR from the Airport to Termini.

Lovely family run restaurant

by Taffster about L'Esquilino

This gorgeous family run restaurant is romantic and intimate serving lovely food and great house red wine!

a bottle of wine, 2 drinks, 2 x starters/mains/desserts for 65 Euros - great! You must try the carbonara - fresh, tasty and great with a bottle of red. The Tiramisu is great too!

Spanish Steps

by Willettsworld

The steps were built in the 1720's to link Piazza di Spagna with the French church of Trinita dei Monti (currently under restoration as you can see by the photo). The French wanted to place a statue of Louis XIV at the top, but the pope objected and it was not until the 1720's that the Italian architect Franseco de Sanctis produced the Rococo design which satisified both camps.
