It has one double room & one single room that share a bathroom. There's a TV in the double room, and I think the single room has a balcony. It's very clean & charming. It's run by a man (Franco Frongia) and his wife. They have one young son who you may have the priviledge to eat breakfast with, unless you prefer to eat at the cafe on the street below (breakfast is included in the price, either way).
The hotel is on the 4th floor of the building, but there is a lift, which is good if you're dragging luggage around.
Franco is very friendly & helpful. He spent a good 20 minutes on the phone helping us figure out the train system (we don't speak Italian, so we were very gratefull!)
Directions:
A bit difficult to find...
Get off the Furio Camillo stop on Metro line A, and exit to Ceasare Baronio. Go left on via Appia Nuova. Walk about 4 blocks to Via Gino Capponi. Here's where it's difficult. Steets are not that well marked, so if you can't find via Gino Capponi, look for Piazza Alberone on your left. If you can't see a sign for Piazza Alberone, look for the Alberone Cafe which is on the corner of the square. If you've reached the gas station, you've gone too far. Once there, take a left & walk another 3-4 blocks or so. The hotel is on the left, across from a small square (Piazza Scipione Ammirato). It is not marked. The only sign is a small label above the doorbell for Frongia, Franco. I hope you find it more easily that I did!
Nice area. Great little restaurant around the corner. I can't remember what it's called, but walk out the front door, go to the end of the square (one block) and take a left. It's just a couple doors down. Franco will know what it's called.
There's also a really nice food market a block down the road.
