beautiful marble everywhere...baby grand too ! by mapakettle Five Stars....maybe not on paper, but this is our rating. The rooms are average sized, extremely clean, with actual towels in the bathroom. The bathroom is spacious, with tub and shower, plus little soaps etc. that are absent in many European hotels. Comfortable beds, ample storage, and quiet surroundings. Our room was equipped with an air conditioner, with hand held remote control for heat and cooling. The lobby is all marble, sparkling, with no fewer than four common areas, including a baby grand piano, a small bar with four stools, and a full sized pool table provided for the guests at no charge. Elevator. The desk clerks all spoke English, and were exceptionally pleasant and polite. Full breakfast on the roof top terrace, including scrambled eggs, and an attempt at North American coffee, plus 'far' more selection than would normally be found elsewhere. Once again, wonderful staff, willing to help in what ever way possible. No English was spoken, but somehow it wasn't necessary. We were there for Christmas (2003), and management left a small cake in our room, and provided free wine and grappa at the bar, plus chocolates and other goodies. Nice touch, nice people. This hotel is family run, and aims to please. We highly recommend it to any travelor to Rome, and the location just moments away from the Vatican Museum only adds to its appeal. We would return to this hotel without hesitation. They have just opened a 'sister' property in Rome in the spring of 2004. Worth a look...
Marble entrance, and spotless interior. Excellent location moments from Vatican Museum 10 minute walk to Vatican City Close to Metro safe area lots of restaurants nearby.

Ideally located next to the entrance to the Vatican Museum, close to St.Peter's Basillica and other famous sites and within easy reach of two Metro stations if you wish to head farther afield. We stayed in the hotel situated on Viale Vaticano, which they said was the newer of the two. The rooms were great - very clean, warm and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was very good - plenty of options for all tastes.
The outstanding feature of the hotel was the staff. All of them absolutely charming and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble! I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.

Great location for visiting the Vatican, as museum entrance is just down a set of steps. Charming hotel, family run; with delightful public rooms on the main floor, though we didn't have time to use them. Rooms are compact by N. American standards - but very clean, with full bathroom, including shower (but be prepared to sit down to use it, unless you're about 4 ft. tall! LOL) Elevator access to all 4 floors of rooms and to roof top breakfast room. Breakfast (included) was excellent - all normal European choices, plus eggs, bacon, fish, asparagus, potatos & more. Freshly baked pastries - & choice of capuccino or American coffee. Good view of Vatican museum entrance from the roof top, which is available for afternoon or evening drinks as well - and has an ice maker. You can just go up and make yourself at home, with your own drinks. Free shuttle to airport made the price of the hotel even more palatable.
Front entrance is up 4-5 steps, but they have a lift outdoors to lift your suitcases to the entrance door level. Cute! Theme: HotelPrice: US$180 and up » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageDirections: Across the street from entrance to Vatican Museum
