Keith you may already be aware of the dangers of travelling to Rome unticketed... but in case you're not, the Roma Ultra fans are notorious for stabbing other fans in the buttocks (where the sciatic nerve is) as a little hello. Police turn a blind eye, and it happens a lot.

Travel Tips for Rome

Flowers Dowtown!

by Kinas

Here's an interesting place to visit.
This flower market is an excelent spot to have
a rest after a long walk.
For 30 minutes, you forget you are on the center of one of the most busy cities in Europe!
We ended up to see it once again with Sara (Sarita76 on VT) and Mónica on a very relaxed Sunday walk.

Olympic Stadium

by bonio

On our first afternon in Rome soccer club AS Roma had a home game against Sampdoria from Genoa. Went along early to the stadium but found no tickets on sale except for touts who wanted far too much. The game was a 0-0 draw and after reading Cheekymaria's comments about the stadium I don't think we missed to much.
Slightly disappointed but there you go!

Is this a shopping tip?

by belgianchocolate about Black market.

We had quit a laugh with our own joke.
You can see this sort of shops all over Rome
but a concentration of stalls with fake
Louis Vuitton handbags can be seen in front
of the 'Castel Sant' Angelo'.

Yeah yeah , it's fake. Ever since J-Lo sat on
that hunk with this handbag everybody wants
to have one. But it is not within everybodys budget.

We joked it was the Black market since all
the vendors were black.

The strangest thing we saw was a policeman
buying fake sunglasses near Termini.
We saw them talking to a vendor and were
curious what would happen. Was this man getting
arrested? Nope , they are supporting this business.

Well , your in Italy! Wasn't that the most corrupt
country in the world? They got a reputation
to keep.

Best Pizza in Rome

by actor22_2000 about La Pecora Pazza

Great little walk in pizza spot near Trevi Fountain. This was a great little find that we hit three times during our five nights. Very nice service that had very good english and was very open to make reccomendations. Our first night I beleive it was the owner there and he was great.
My wife lost her scarf and when I ran back for it, the staff was helping the line when they spotted me and pointed behind the counter and there was her scarf. My fovorite was the mushroom pizza and the plain chees pizza.
We also fell in love with these little balls made os risoto, tomato sauce and mozzerlla inside and fried :-) YUM!!!!!!!
We have tried them other places and nothing came close.
Full meal for two including drink 11 Eros.

Chinese food in the city center

by Sarita76 about Ristorante Cinese Yu Yuan

If you feel like having Chinese food in the middle of your Roman holiday (it happens!), then I suggest to go to Yu Yuan. This restaurant is very clean, fast and has a good location as via Quattro Fontane is close to Termini railway station, via Nazionale, via Barberini, Spanish Steps and lots more.
