Great Hotel

Awesome hotel. Great service. Free breakfast was just enough to get you going each morning. We booked the Honeymoon Suite so our opinion of the rooms may be different than most, but the hotels staff was helpful, location was great.

My advice is to use the Rome Pass. I forget the price - 20 or 24 euro's?? You get free admission to the first two sites and then a discount on all other applicable sites. You also get 3 free days of metro and bus use. Metro station is 2 blocks away and will easily get you to the Vatican, Colloseum, Spanish steps, etc.

There are some great restaurants nearby. Easy walk to Trevi, Forum.

Great Hotel in right Rome Location

We booked the Hotel Artemide on-line thru Hotels.com, and made our selection based on price and location. We were not disappointed, as it is a great small hotel, that is set up with most rooms off the street, so traffic/street noise was a non-factor. The room was very nice sized, with a large bath and seperate shower room. The room had a free mini-bar which was re-stocked each day. They offered an American style breakfast buffet that varied each day, and also offered free Internet access at a computer in one of the lounges. The location was only two blocks to the Metro, and about 8-blocks to the Termini (Train station). Many of Rome's attractions (Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, Tragens Market, etc.) were within easy walking distance, and the Vatican was a 15-minutes taxi ride, or you could get there on the Metro. We certainly were more than pleased with this hotel.

Unique Quality: Great Breakfast, and very friendly staff. Super location and very quiet rooms.

HOTEL ARTEMIDE

HOTEL ARTEMIDE

Unique Quality: Overlooking the fashionable, extremely central Via Nazionale, the Hotel Artemide is located in a elegant building dating back to the end of 19th century.
Recently renovated both outside and in, the reviving of some of the original Art Nouveau features are the distinguishing characteristic of the hotel's reception rooms. The top-floor suite, with its delightful verandah and spacious plant-filled terrace, dominates the city.
The higly professional service of the personnel complements these exclusive surroundings.

More about Artemide Hotel

Fabulous hotel - price/quality/friendliness of staff - perfect!

by TripAdvisor Member Gabrielle16

We - a family with three adolescent children - stayed at Hotel Artemide for 5 nights. The above-average price rate of rooms is worth it! You get a modern, well equipped room, all possible amenities, free minibar, free newspaper; the staff is most accommodating with every request we had; breakfast is included (which is rare in these days) is perfect for every taste including freshly squeezed orange juice. We walked (10, 15, 20 mins to all major sights) or took the bus (no. 64) to St. Peter and St. Angels Castle. Wish we could still be in Rome! Rome and Hotel Artemide - we'll be back soon!

A remarkable stay in Artemide!!!

by TripAdvisor Member Loeane

We stayed in Hotel Artemide last October 2005 for our honeymoon to various cities in Italy. Rome was our first stop. After a long flight all the way from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; we were really exhausted and needed to freshen up as quickly as possible. The staff at the front counter was really understanding and kind, to allow us to check into our rooms almost immediately even though we arrived at the hotel before 8 in the morning.

The room we stayed in was adequate and clean. Though the room size was relatively small, but it should be quite accepatable by European standard. The bathroom was clean, and water pressure was sufficient. Overall, the room was better than we expected after having read some of the comments posted in Tripadvisor.

Breakfast served in Hotel Artemide was relatively good too. Everything was adequate, and services by waiters were good.

The location of the hotel though not exactly great, but is quite convenient since it is within short distances to places of interest. Taxi drivers to have no problem locating the hotel too, so we did not face any problem getting back to our hotel.

We would certainly recommend this hotel, and we might stay here again if we have chance to visit Rome again.

Keep up the good work, Artemide!

The best hotel I have stayed in

by A TripAdvisor Member

It was with some trepedation that we booked the Hotel Artemide on-line, as we have had problems in the past with other accommodation. However, what a complete an utter joy ..... The management and staff were polite, professional and courteous (surprising, considering we could not speak Italian - although we had a go!). The hotel was very clean; the room (superior double) spacious and well equipped with TV, internet access, phone, kingsize bed and single bed/sofa, wardrobe space, bedside cabinets, desk, seating and free/complimentary mini-bar (2xbeer, 2xjuice, 2xsparkling soft drinks, 2x sparkling water and 2x still water which is replenished every day); its bathroom consisted of bath (shower over), basin, toilet, bidet, hairdryer, together with complimentary slippers and bathrobe. Breakfast was good with a lot of choice - if you wanted to be heathy you could! The bar was well stocked and remained open until midnight and had internet access.

But best of all it was situated on the Via Nazionale, well within walking distance of all of Rome's attractions.

We haven't stayed in a lot of hotels, but have stayed in 5star hotels in a number of cities, the Hotel Artemide is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in, only a 3 - 4star, but only losing out because it doesn't have a health spa or gym.

We will stay there again, so don't overcrowd it!!!!!!

Good If You Get A Competitive Rate

by TripAdvisor Member one_spod

The Hotel Artemide has a nice center city location within walking distance to the subway and to many of the most famous Roman attractions (ancient Rome, Pantheon, Pza. Navonna, and Pza. Spagna), while not being in the middle of tourist central (Via Nazionale is more commercial disctrict than tourist district). The free mini-bar and breakfast keep the hotel "above average", while the rooms are simply average (small, but well presented). The staff was helpful and unassuming. The hotel met expectations on all counts and even exceeded expectations on some, but the nightly rate would be the only prohibitive factor for a future stay. Compare rates and factor in what you may pay for min-bar drinks (soda, fruit, still water, sparkling water and beer... up to 2 each as restocked daily) and breakfast that you may partake in during your stay. In my experience, deduct about 16 Euro per person to get an accurate comparator.

A good choice

by TripAdvisor Member raikesend

I was a bit put off after reading about someone accusing the hotel staff of trying to break into their suitcases, but after being there I realised it must be a stupid mistake, someone making mischief, blaming the first people they see. The staff were very good, very helpful and friendly. We had a beautiful room, at the back, quiet and relaxed. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice. I would recommend the hotel and would go there again. Rome is a lovely place, lots of variety lots to do.I think when we write reports we should do it with care.

Look elsewhere

by TripAdvisor Member MDinboston

For about $300/night, I would expect much better. We have stayed in some great hotels and middle of the road and this Rome hotel is neither for a premium. The staff was bothered when we asked for help a couple times. They charged us twice for the movie when we had only seen it one time (& ignored us when we told them about it). The decor was dated and worn (broken vase in the foyer), carpeting had stains. For this we would expect to pay about half of what we did.
My advice - look elsewhere and book early. Our issue was that we booked last minute and going by the reviews on Trip Advisor thought this was going to be an ok choice.

new year in Rome!

by TripAdvisor Member Rescampo

We stayed at the Artemide over the christmas holiday, 2005 and it was perfect. the location is excellent, near enough all the sights, and quiet enough for the position in via Nazionale.
The staff were courteous, friendly, helpful... the bar and restaurant next door makes a wonderful breakfast and the treat of having room service on christmas day was great fun. Highly recommended.
