Asterix II

Great Place

We stayed at the Asterix for almost two weeks during our travels throughout western Europe. We were so tired from picking up and moving every couple days that once we made it to Rome we just settled in. The hostel is small but very quaint. Everyone easily becomes like a "family". Whether it be hanging out in the kitchen cooking, eating or just watching CNN or heading out to go clubbing the staff makes you feel like a local. They went out of their way to provide us with a clean and safe place while we were visiting Rome. We found the location to be great as we were able to catch one of the many buses or walk to one of the many attractions Rome has to offer!

Unique Quality: The staff quickly became friends with all who were staying at Asterix. When we had planned a day trip to see Pompeii, we were late returning back to Rome. When we got off the train Johnny was running up and down looking for us. He was worried about us (being 3 girls from Canada) traveling in the dark in Italy. When he found us he was like a father scolding his children, telling us that it is unsafe to be out and about at that hour. We definitely came to love everyone at the Asterix and would recommend anyone stay there!
