has anyone any experience of using this, and is it value for money?
Yes, the Roma pass for us was a great value. It cost 20 Euro each and includes free admission for two sights along with a 3 day public transportation pass. We used ours for the Coliseum and Borghese Gallery. The Coliseum is an 11 Euro admission and the Borghese Gallery cost 13 Euro. On top of that, we probably made about 8-10 metro/bus trips in the 3 days. So if you add the cost of all of that, that comes out to 31-33 Euros that we could of spent. So we saved a lot doing it this way. The Roma pass also offers discounts on other museum/sights. Check the museum and sights it does cover and see if it covers things you want to see. If you don't plan on using the metro all that much and don't want to do a lot of museums than it may not be worth it for you.
thanks - very helpful
it looks like a good deal, but sometimes you never know!

It is quite a trek to the top of the castle, but it is an interesting one and before you reach it you will be cheerfully side-tracked a number of times, like me. Anyway once on top, you can get some great snaps of scenes around the area including some of S Peter's and of course this statue, too.
The way the Romans park their cars is very different from the way we park our cars in Denmark. In Rome there are many cars in a small area and therefore they have to be very creative to find a parking spot. For example on a broad road they park in two lines on each side and there almost isn’t space for the cars to drive through.
Because of the lack of space there are a lot of “smart” cars and motor-cycles. The “smart” cars can, because they are quadratic and very small, park between two normal cars, and the motorcycles stand in long rows just like dominoes.
From this café on Piazza Navona you can see the big fountain right in front and have a perfect view on the whole square, there's a good deal of shade, so you won't get sunburnt while eating our ice cream.
Prices are considerably average, if you compare with the other cafés on the Piazza.
Home made ice cream and Italian foods. Tartufo, clearly the café's speciality. Ice cream covered either with cocao-powder or rasped coconut, delisciuos!!!
I was staying at a small hotel near Roma Termini and coliseum was just 2-3 metro stations away from my hotel.
All of a sudden, I never expected that the coliseum was just right in the middle of the town and it's so huge that you would never capture the whole construction. Oh my God!! its really georgeous!!
