Walk through the brilliant...
by Brinkolas
Walk through the brilliant Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapelle. I personally loved the fresco's, ceilings, and tapidstries in the museum. Here's a picture of a fresco on a ceiling, it's called the victory of christianity over peganism.

An Ice Cream To Change Your Life
by OttoMarzo about Pellacchia
It's a small but famous bar. It's ice cream can really change your life. Absolutely the best ice cream you can ever eat. It won't give you a wide range of flavours options, but you can be sure that those ones they have, oh brother, they will make you think that life is wonderful. My favourite flavour is lemmon cream, but I have to admit that the best they do is dark chocolate. Don't eat them together because lemmon cream's taste is very delicate and it would disappear with that strong flavour of chocolate. Juste eat two ice creams! From € 1,30 on.
There is a METRO in ROME...
by Michael_D
There is a METRO in ROME and it has grown to be quite extensive, but this is one city I am reluctant to use the metro becuase you see so much via surface transportion. Its a tossup...the time you save using the Metro will give you extra time to do extra things...like see more places!
Nice local trattoria
by baronedivandastad about La Torricella
I went to this place with a large group (around 20 people) that I had trouble accommodating on a Monday, a day when restaurants are traditionally closed.
The owner answered the phone directly and very politely thanked me for the reservation. Not bad a start!
On arrival we were kept waiting a bit (full on a Monday evening! that's a good sign) but then offered a drink as a compensation, so we were happy. The fried starters were good and light, as was their pasta alla carbonara (a well-done classic). The way the mixed roasted meat was presented was slightly under expectation, but then again perhaps I'm too demanding. The taste was nice.
As a drink we ordered the house wine, but it wasn't too good, so we diverted into bottled red from Sicily. The list is small but well thought and adequate to the general level of the place.
The service can be a bit too informal, especially when it's full, but is timely and efficient. The bill was extremely honest, almost at pre-euro levels.
Book in advance, especially if there's more than two of you and if you go at weekends.
This place has opened two other venues. I visited one of them in May 2006 and created another tip for it. The fried starters were one step above everything else. Well done!
