Nice stay but nt easy to get around
This hotel was a very clean little stay and had some very nice amenities including a nice big tub to relax in after a long day of sight seeing. The staff was very nice and all seemed to have god English. I looked forward to the breakfast every morning (Eggs, cold cuts and cheese, GREAT coffee and a chocolate croissant) This breakfast will give you enough carbs to keep going half the day.
Ok...enough of the good stuff.
Would I recommend this hotel to someone????
Yes, on one condition..you are willing to take a cab during your whole stay.
You are in Rome...but a bit away from the major sites. You spend so much energy getting to the places and sites that you traveld across the Atlantic for that it can make for very long days.
I know that several sites say that you are 10 minutes from the Metro and this may be true. However, we only used the Metro once in five days of travel here. Busses are teh transportation of choice, and teh system is not the easiest to utilize( Even the hotel staff could not keep the bus numbers correct). Travel during the day was not that bad, but the return back to the hotel was deadly!!!!
Pay the extra cash and stay within walking distance of Rome Central.

A Bit too far Out
My Husband and I had booked the Savoy, but at the last minute we decided we couldn't travel without the kids so it was a mad dash back to the travel agents to find a hotel that would take them. It wasn't that the Savoy wouldn't, but they refused to allow the children share a room with us which was bad as the kids are still very young.
The agent came up with the Beverly Hills, which looked fantastic on the website. To be fair, it was great but it was so far out of the City centre and away from what we wanted to see that it was the wrong place to send us with two babies.
Apart from that the hotel was very clean, the staff were very good with the children, and gave us great restaurant recommendations every night.
The buffet breakfast was far better than I expected and not just the usual European continental.

Good value for money in a charming area
5 minutes from Villa Borghese (by foot) and 20 minutes by bus from Rome main attractions (Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain).
The hotel is resonably nice though not sure about its 4 star rating..nevertheless still good value for money if booked on Expedia (the room is Euro 90 per night with breakfast included).

SAFE AREA
In a nice area away from the hussle and bussle pleasent walk through villa borghese to spanish steps, buses take you to tourist areas although taxi were only costing 8euros
the hotel was clean the staff very friendly and helpful the rooms were big enough although the bathroom was a little small .
breakfast was basic but enough,
warning to smokers no smoking anywhere in the hotel uncluding bar.
would stay again but perhaps if I could get somwhere nearer for same rate then not.

I've never stayed at this hotel. It is a bit out of the center of things -- though relatively close to the Borghese Museum and the big park, Villa Borghese. Certainly there will be plenty of buses or trams to the historic center, or you could take a taxi, if you don't want to walk. It would take about 20 minutes to walk to the top of the Spanish Steps from your hotel. But a walk through the Villa Borghese would be a lovely way to start each day.
