What a nice stay at Boscolo Palace in Rome in the well know scenario of Via Veneto!
Warm welcome from the staff and nice and quiet room for me and my wife ( comfortable bed)
The vanity set in the bathroom is really fabulous and the housekeeper has been really nice with us..
A special thanks to the guest assistant who has recommended to us very good restaurants in the city..
Good by Rome, see you in Boscolo Palace next year..I guess!:)))

Not a bad hotel
Hotel was ok. Room was on the smaller side and bathroom smelled funny. Could use some renovation. Hotel room had a huge balcony on the plus side.
Unique Quality: Across from the American embassy. Also the hotel has been deemed a historic landmark due to the frescos in the bar/lounge area in the lobby. Interesting to see and if you chat with the bartenders they will give you more background on the frescos.

A little snooty
Nice room, big bathroom, let us check in a day early, room smelled a little musty at first, the staff was a little snooty.
Unique Quality: Located next to the Hard Rock Cafe. Not to far from most places. $200 a night.

Poshing it up in Roma!
It's not cheap to stay here, but you have to treat yourself occassionally (i didn't book it!)
From the outside it loks like any other large hotel; in the city, high stone walls and flags outside with a bell boy or two having a sly smoke.
Inside decor was wonderful especially the lounge area - just like a 1920's ballroom. The bedrooms are a good size and the bed was enormous! Lots of wardrobe space etc - all very handy. Only got bathrobes on the last day though!
Staff very good with anything you require, but a word of warning - do not eat anything form the resturant! I may not be the best cook in the world but I know how to cook a few veg without killing them totally. The food was very expensive and totally undeserving of such beautiful surroundings, still they took our complaint on the chin and didn't charge for the worst bits! However, the wine selection was incredible, when the barman who used work in London offers you his choice of red - accept it. It's bound ot be fantastic! For those that like a little comedy they had a one-man-and-his-amp show most nights in the lounge. It was hysterically funny, quite unintentionally i'm sure.
The position of the hotel is very good, near the top of Via Vittorio, and only a few minutes from the Spanish Steps, shops, Trevi Fountain etc.
Unique Quality: It has to be the interior. They have a lovely big stairwell with lush thick carpets - great after walking about all day - makes you feel like a real princess walking down it. The lounge is also amazing - a huge mural covers all the walls showing a party scene - very glamarous and be-jewelled people ever where
The Grand Palace Hotel is the perfect hotel for an air of luxury without being over the top. It has all the niceties like doors being opened to make you feel posh, but does not have the intimidating feeling of some 5 star hotels. We were very spoilt by them as soon as we arrived, we were upgraded to a 5th floor room with a balcony as I'd mentioned earlier it was a birthday treat. Then a comlimentary bottle of champagne arrived with 2 glasses - what more could I ask! The hotel is well located to walk to all the sights - we only had to resort to the subway once to reach the Vatican. The buffet breakfast is superb and sets you up for a long days sight-seeing. The staff are friendly and helpful, and to really set this hotel apart it has a lovely basement swimming pool/jacuzzi decorated in a lovely Roman Bath type theme. To summarise, I couldn't rate this hotel highly enough - and I don't praise easily !
Very Happy

Spent a couple of nights here just before Christmas 2004.
The location is great, only five minutes walk from the Spanish steps and fifteen from most of the major sights.
We found the hotel to be very comfortable and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant are very nicely decorated and the breakfast was very good.
We plan to visit Rome again during 2005 and will be staying in this hotel when we do.

Stayed here for 9 nights over Christmas and New Year's 2004/05. We were in Rome for a wedding and the hotel was very accommodating to the group. Rooms are a good size, hotel is very clean, breakfast is great, and the bar/lounge is super. Also the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome.
Great position!!

Just come back from a fantastic weekend away in Rome staying at this hotel. The rooms were clean and the bathroom with plenty of towels was adequate. However, the air conditioning was not working and the staff offered no explanation of why not and suggested we open the windows. Thr trouble is that the hotel is on a very busy road (Via Veneto) and Rome does not go to sleep at night!!! Depsite the 10C temperature outside the rooms were airless and very hot and we had to have the windows open at night. It was so noisy (despite being on the 6th floor) we hardly slept.
The breakfast was excellent with a good range of cold and some hot options.
Staff were overall friendly if you tried to speak some Italian. The bar was very expensive - 100 euros for 3 drinks. The minibar was also very expensive so buy your drinks elsewhere!!!
The positioning of the hotel was exellent for all main attractions - we did not need to take public transport at anytime until we returned to the airport.
Would love to return to Rome but probably won't return to this hotel
Perfect location, amazing room...

My husband and I just stayed at the hotel...Service is excellent. The huge room had a big terrace with a gorgeous view, which was a complete surprise. The breakfast is wonderful (with a great terrace if the weather permits). The location is incredible - on Via Veneto just a 10 minute walk to the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and Villa Borghese.
