Casa di Sara, Great Location Near Piazza Navona
My 20-year-old daughter and I enjoyed our 7-day stay in Casa di Sara Bed & Breakfast, from Feb. 26-Mar. 5, 2011. Its location near Piazza Navona was within walking distance of the Vatican and old parts of the city. The B&B was clean. Wi-fi was included. Our room had its own bathroom. Antonio, the owner, was a gracious and helpful host. We conversed in Spanish, and he called his son once to help when we required more detailed information in English. We enjoyed the bar across the streeet where we went for our daily cappuchino and croissant, included in the price of the B&B. We walked to a farmers market and brought back fresh fruit and drinks, which we kept in the small refrigerator. Note that the 2nd floor location in Italy is equivalent to the third floor in the US, so allow for climbing extra stairs - there is no elevator, but we were OK with that.
Unique Quality: Casa di Sara is in an old part of the wall and tower. It's been rennovated in the last couple of years and we liked that it kept the appearance of being older. Our room, the Michaleangelo, was quite roomy with a king-sized bed and futon, desk. shelf, wardrobe, safe, and refrigerator. There was a second window on the inside, to help insulate the room from cold and outside noises. Soundproofing was pretty good and we weren't bothered much by noise at night.
