pastaritas

by digger9

where are they located in rome

Re: pastaritas

by leics

Do you mean 'pastericcia'....pastry/cake shops? If so, they are everywhere!

Re: pastaritas

by domenicococozza

I think you mean pastorito.
Here are two to be getting on with:-

Via Veneto 13.
Via Sardegna 34/36.

Both are excellent

Re: pastaritas

by qaminari

LOL. If it were a pastry shop, it would be "pasticceria"!
Have no idea what TYPE of thing(s) "pastaritas" ("they") are supposed to be and it would have helped to say, so that people could work out what you are referring to. But I guess the preceding response is likely to be the closest

Re: pastaritas

by domenicococozza

They are specialist pasta restaurants

Re: pastaritas

by leics

What are 'pastoritos' then????

Re: pastaritas

by leics

Now that's really impressive......answering the question before I posted it! Psychic powers, eh?? :-)

If you're talking about the chain, I have to add that that was the most disgusting restaurant I have ever had the misfortune of eating in. Hands-down. In particular, the one on Corso Trapani in Turin was nausea-inducing. It smelled like an overflowing septic tank. The whole place was dirty dirty dirty and the staff were BEYOND rude. Also, the food is really bad. If you're in a city with a Brek, you can get a meal for the same price, just as quickly, but that is actually good.

Case Romane al Celio-Roman Houses (IV century AD)

by abarbieri

They are located not far from the Colosseum. Interesting especially for those visitors who have time available and like underground Rome and digs.
Many local couples do get married in the church (Basilica dei SS Giovanni e Paolo al Celio) located just upstairs.
Full information are provided on the web site.

Buy metro tickets from tobacco or news shops

by rstary

It was impossible to get metro tickets from the machines at the station. We witnessed many others have an equally difficult time getting the machines to emit tickets. They must require exact change, which you will never have. Look for a tobacco or newspaper shop. They sell tickets. Once past this problem, the metro is really a great way to get around town.

On the Via Giolitti side of...

by funnyl

On the Via Giolitti side of the Termini as you get out next to the McDonalds there is this place which offers three course really filling meals for only 8 or 9 euros per person, with a sweet old lady at the counter. There is no service charge which seemed to be 3 euros at all restaurants in Rome
In the Termini, on the basement level where the Metro is, there is a Conad supermarket if you want to eat very cheap readymade food, we bought some good wine from there and a 1.5 litre of lime drink for only 50 cents! Thats cheaper than in India! Near our hotel there is a place which seems so Italian, a lovely ristofer/trattoria with great ambience but very high prices and horrible food, I liked the lasagna in Bombay much more, what a disapointment, and on our first night in Rome. At least our other meals were great.

Get to Vatican City Early

by TravelFess

My best tip to give when going to Vatican City is get there early. My friend and I arrived there about an hour before it opened, and we still had to wait an additional hour and half after it opened. But we found that it wasn't as crowded. As we were leaving people were waiting in line in the hot, hot sun, who probably would not be able to get in that day. So wake up early and get in line, especially during busy season.
