Roma Pass

by eosdriver

We are going to Rome this week. Seeing as the weather forecast is poor, I think we may buy the Roma Pass on arrival. Can anyone please tell me if the Colosseum/Palatine/Forum counts as one visit please. I have read somewhere that it may count as two visits (now that the Forum is no longer free entry) in which case it isn't really worth buying the pass.

Grazie

Hello,

Yes the colosseum/palatine hill/forum count as one visit. I just got a confirmation email from the company this morning answering that question. They have not updated their website but it is still a great buy if you are planning on seeing many sites and using the transportation system in Rome.

Travel Tips for Rome

Going Back To Ancient Rome....

by Krystynn

The magnificent ancient ROMAN FORUM, of course!

Once upon a time in ancient Rome, this place was THE religious, political and commercial center. I can't help but marvel... at how exciting it must have been to live during that era.

Take a day trip to Tivoli.

Take a day trip to Tivoli.
The fountains at Villa d'Esta are absolutely beautiful. Its a bit of a tourist trap, but worth it. My only complaint was that we didn't get nearly enough time to explore the gardens.

Taking a Cab, not so bad

by nyonnetti

"Rome is a city best seen on foot" is what I have read and readily agree with. However, there are times when you are just exhausted from walking but still want to go see the city. We took a taxi several times throughout our stay in Rome and found that not only was it inexpensive and convenient, it was also an experience in itself. The driving in Rome is absolutely crazy (Naples is worse) and being able to experience that from the perspective of being in the car was exciting and fun. Also, we almost always had a nice cab driver who would give us facts about places we would drive by in his broken English. Back to the inexpensive part: If you stay in the city center, you can pretty much spend no more than 7-10 Euro on a cab ride. It can be more at night as the base price may be a bit higher. This is also the case if you take a cab from the train station. However, this is no comparison to getting a cab in NYC. So in conclusion, I highly recommend this type of transportation when your feet are hurting or when you are lost, it is worth the money.

Original Pasta, Pizza and co.

by suubi about Piazza Navona

We had a tip from our hotel to try “Piaza Navona” and it turned out to be a real catch. Not only in the variety of restaurants but also in the romantic atmosphere filled with music and artists. Numerous restaurants surround the 3 fountains. You can stroll around first and look at the menus before making up your mind as to which cover colors you fancy.

Beware that this is a top tourist area and the prices are correspondingly high. Nothing but Pizza!!!

“Roma pass”

by Tanimona

It`s cheaper to by “Roma pass” (18 euro)
for visit few museums, than single entrance ticket every time.
Besides with “Roma pass” we will avoid enormous line to Colosseo,
for example. There are chain of tourist kiosks, noted green color
and letter “i” in Rome, where “Roma pass” is sell.
Don`t forget however, “Roma pass” validity 3 days after activation!
“Roma pass” don`t work in Vatikan, and if you want to see Vatikan,
you will pay entrance ticket about 12 euro.
