Name of store in Viale di Trastevere?

by craic

I shopped there nearly every week but it has just slipped my mind.

It is a chain store, I am nearly certain (but not Upim) sold cheapish clothes etc above and has a supermarket below.

If you can help, thank you so much!!

I am not sure but it might be the "Standa". They usually have a supermarket on a lower floor.
Their web site (www.standa.it) says there is one in Trastevere:
V.le Trastevere, 62/64 - Roma - Tel. 06 5895342
I was also thinking of Oviesse but I have never seen one with a supermarket inside.

Travel Tips for Rome

Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore

by pili

The basilica is especially noted for the 5th-century Roman mosaics in its nave, as well as for its ceiling, said to have been gilded with gold brought from America. The church contains the tomb of Bernini, Italy's most important baroque sculptor/architect.-

Museo Nazionale Romano

by meteorologist1

This museum near the Termini train station houses a lot of sculptures and statues from ancient Roman times. It also teaches you a nice history lesson of ancient Rome. There are tons and tons of sculptures as well as lots of art work including wall art. Nice place to stop if you are near the train station.

Metro/subway station: Termini or Repubblica.

Ciampino Airport Shuttles

by chelley

The airport shuttles are run by two bus companies which take you from Ciampino to Via Marsala beside Termini station.
The Terravision bus costs 7euro each way or 12euro return
The SIT bus costs 6euro each way (I think it is 10euro return).

Get on the bus if you are at the stop - don't put your bag on and hang around having a smoke - the bus driver might just leave without you!! We watched as five tourists had to unload their bags because they hadn't boarded quickly enough and the bus driver was leaving a few minutes late.

New, used by locals, good value

by leics about Meid in Napols

This is a very bright and functional new restaurant: scrubbed brick walls, modern seating, televisions (sound down), stainless steel visible cooking area etc....

We ate there twice: the pizza was good, the braesola/rocket/parmesan salad scrummy, the house wine perfectly drinkable and the bill very reasonable.

Service is pleasant and friendly (English spoken), and you get a couple of frittata (deep-fried dough balls in this case) to nibble on whilst waiting for your meal.

Plenty of local people visited whilst we were there, which is always a good sign.

Worth a visit if you want good value food in a slightly different ambience.

Well, it worked on me...

by Wondagirl

What can I say, I really hate this kind of tourist things...
But everytime I go to Rome, I always go to Fontana di Trevi and throw a coin over my left shoulder into the fountain. AND...I always come back =)

So, if you want to bee lucky as me...
