walk around the streets and 'piazze' (squares) until getting tired. There are so many places to visit in Roma. I love Roman Squares like the Piazza Navona, one of the most nice and popular squares in town.

I'm planning to visit Italy in 1st week of December with wife and friends. Please suggest some budget accommodation which should be clean and safe for ladies. Bread & Breakfast kind of accommodation would be preferred.
There are million accomodations in Rome to suite different preferences. You may like to explore VT Rome Guide in this regard to narrow down your choices and make most out of your money.
One important tip: Keep your accomodation near Roma Termini, the main train station of Rome. Advantages: easy and quick accessibility to various locations such as the Airport; a very happening place; ineviatble if you plan to go to other cities; easy accessibility to tourist sites; etc etc.
I stayed in a hostel, pop-inn hostel, which was next to Termini, but that might not suite your requirements, so better search VT Rome Guide or wait for expert VTers to come up with their sugegstions..
Have a great trip......
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Colors on Via Boezio which is within walking distance to the Vatican City, Piazza del Risorgimento (for buses) and Ottaviano metro stop (for Termini and anywhere else). We loved this place, its in a quiet area, very safe, budget accommodation (for Rome standards), and breakfast is included which was wonderful and helped financially. We walked everywhere and found Rome to be a walking city as long as you have the time for it.
One alternative is
Casa Bonus Pastor, which is on the back of the Vatican. Here the Website: http://www.casabonuspastor.it/
A second option across the street is S. Emilia de Vialor, a convent right next to the Vatican - who needs an alarm clock when the bells chime @ 7.45 am - plus fab views into the Vatican gardens. Clean, own bathroom & curfew is 11 pm.

Many thanks for the information and sparing your time.

absolutely a city map! you absolutely want to take a rather precis city map along! For instance in Trastevere there are lots of curvy and winding vicolos (alleys), you will loose yourself if you don't have a good map of the area...
Here's some of the delicious treats this chocholate makes.
Oh boy Pasta, pizza, ice-cream and chocholate....how do these italians stay so slim ?? could spend a fortune here, very expensive but totally delicious, luxury chocolate.
Either by train or plane, but not by car. Parking a car in Rome is difficult to find, expensive, dangerous, and not convenient.
My first taxi ride ever was on this vacation in Rome. It was actually very easy and fun. The way they drive in Rome is like a roller coaster, it's an experience you won't want to miss. Just look for the orange rectangular taxi signs posted. I can tell you that there are taxi stands at the train station, near piazza navona, piazza del popolo, the spanish steps, argentina area, and the vatican like this one pictured here.
Lovers of mozzarella rejoice! Obikà is to mozzarella, what an enoteca is to wine. The chic spot on Piazza di Firenze, not too distant from the Pantheon, and the recently opened branch at Campo de' Fiori, both offer an excellent list of wines to be consumed with a wide range of light dishes, most of which involve the finest mozzarella cheese from Campania. Although open for lunch and dinner, Obikà makes a great spot for a light lunch and a glass of wine in a day of sightseeing in central Rome, at either location. Although I had never heard of it before, Obikà does have international locations that include New York and London. According to its website, it has recently had yet another new opening, this time in Florence.
