Beauty in Marble
One of my most favorite places in Rome---you can sit, sketch, people watch, and admire the beauty. When I was there I was also able to admire the scaffolding for the resoration inside...hopefully it will be completed soon!

I am interested in renting a small apartment for one person in rome for 3-6 months. all i can find on the web is daily rates does anyone know where i can rent by the month?
jack...
try www.homeaway.com or www.vrbo.com
I rented once from www.romanreference.com and once from an owner (http://www.anticacasaporrani.it/roma/index.php?lang=en), and both times there were daily rates, weekly rates and monthly rates.
Try www.rentalinrome.com.
check out www.wantedinrome.com and search through "housing". we just rented an apartment for 2 months and we found the ad in this site. the annoucements are very realiable and yes, they are cheaper than the other sites. i could recommend you the apartment where we stayed but since you are only looking one for a single person, i doubt if a 2-bedroom apartment might serve you.
anyhow, as i've mentioned above, check www.wantedinrome.com and i can guarantee reliable ads.

Trust Ever is a funny way we romans use to call a very special area named Trastevere. All romans love that area, and tourists who won't spend one evening or night there, won't be allowed to say "I saw Rome". Just reach Ponte Sisto (Sisto's Bridge) walking from Piazza Navona or Campo de' Fiori, cross it and get lost in those thousands romantic, hot, unique small streets, amazing squares, cradle of artists, typical restaurants and shops. THAT is Rome, St. Peter is just the Vatican!
The two airports near Rome are Fiumicino (FCO) and Ciampino (CIA), you can find some information about them here:
http://www.italyheaven.co.uk/rome/airports.html.
Fiumicino is the main airport, officially named Leonardo da Vinci Airport Fiumicino. It is 26km from Rome city. Ciampino is a converted military airport, a smaller one with only one terminal, which is mostly used by the budget airlines (i.e., Easy Jet and Ryanair). Ciampino is about 15km south-east of Rome.
Two websites that are useful for budget airline travellers are:
http://www.whichbudget.com
and
http://www.harefares.com
which list EU budget airlines and their destinations.
This restaurant has a wine bar on the street level, a restaurant on the basement and a terrace for dining on the small alley. Lovely food! I ate the best tomato bruschetta there. A good selection of wine, nice waiters and a very nice atmosphere. I really recommend.
When you get here there are people offering guides around the stadium.Id reccomend you take one of there because if you want to see and learn a lot more about a load of bricks these guys can help you. They inform you how they kept crowds under control and show you were various emperiors used to sit and what acts were actually preformed in the arena that they didnt show in "Gladiator".
We had a free pass and another guide around the palace on the same day and some of the views you get from here and the guides infromation on the layout of the palace is exellent. He even showed us the actuall site that Ceaser was buried and some other bits and bobs. The guides aint that expensive and make the visit much more interesting as you walk around both areas.
