Why not getting married in Rome!!
by abarbieri
To get married in the Eternal City must be something you will remember for ever in anycase!! I was talking to a friend of mine that lives in UK who wanted to get married in Rome, but she decided to change her mind because a Wedding Planner was asking more then 1000 euro only for the Paper Work plus another 2000 euro for the basic package(flowers, photografer, venue, transportation etc..).
I later discovered that you need just to get a non impediment paper from the Local Register in your country and send it together with other relevant certificates(birth, residence, copy of the passport, etc..) to the Embassy here in Rome. Then receive a "Nulla Osta" here, book the City Hall(cost about 350 euro) where the Ceremony(Civil) will be held and just be in Rome 1 day earlier to sign the Local Marriage Register.
Of course it helps to have someone here but overall it will not cost a fortune.

Souvenir Shops are all over Rome
by monica71
If you are not looking for any particular item to bring back home, any souvenir shop will do the trick. There are lots of them all over the city and they sell pretty much the same things, so there is really no need to spend lots of time in them.
We did not buy anything from the souvenir shops, but it was fun checking them out :)
The best lunch in Rome!!
by JetSetterGirl
The first day I arrived in Rome, my friend and I went to the Spanish Steps. There after walking around and shopping, we decided to have lunch and located near the "side" steps of the Spanish Steps is a cafe that is ALWAYS packed! The service is friendly and quick. I would HIGHLY recommend the seafood risotto. Fresh seafood is cooked with rice, in a tomato based sauce. Our waiter suggested a glass of the house white wine, which went really well with the food. Do not bother with dessert though, there are so many delicious gelato shops nearby.
Casina Valadier in Borghese il Pincio
by icunme about Valadier
The Casina Valadier reopened to the public on June 19th 2004. After many alternating periods of great splendour and long silences, thanks to a group of entrepreneurs and professionals, the jewel of Villa Borghese has been given back to the city and the Romans in all its old magnificence. Restored according to the original project by Valadier and given all the advantages of technology of the third millennium, the Casina offers today to its guests, in an elegant 18th century setting, a wide range of high quality services that make the Casina unique in its genre. As well as the restaurant on the upper floors and the terraces that have made it famous, the pearl of the Pincio is enriched by a cafe in the garden, an elegant wine cellar in the Sala Romana and a refined bar on the first floor, ideal for aperitif and after dinner drinks with an extraordinary view of Rome. The restoration works have also uncovered the ancient Roman Cistern, the important archeological site over which the building was built. Looking out over Rome, immersed in greenery and rich in history, the Casina Valadier, today more than yesterday, is one of the most evocative places in the city. If a bit more expensive than the usual - a great experience well worth the price.
