Convenient to the Vatican

Hotel and Hostel Colors is on the third and fourth level (no lift) of a corner apartment block of a quiet residential street. All rooms are airconditioned, and some have en-suite, which is what we had. Good showers, clean rooms. Breakfast is included in the price, although we never got around to taking part as we were usually gone before it was served. We had mixed service from reception, depending on who was on duty, but overall we have no complaints.

Unique Quality: St. Peter's Square is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. It's quiet, which isn't always the case in some of Rome's hotels. There's a small terrance with a pleasant view. The reception staff are all English speakers.

Hotel Colors (Backpackers)

I haven't been in this hostel, but I've read a few good things about it (http://www.bugeurope.com/cgi-bin/rms/magpie/do/display.cgi?product-sku=it033).
It seems to be well located, in Prato, near Vatican, quiet and small. Cooking facilities and good views of the city from the terrace... Internet connection too.

Unique Quality: Dorm bed 18.10 euros
Double room 62-77.50 euros

  • Opinion of Price: least expensive

Info about the Hotel Colors

by llcole

Does anyone have any experiences with the Hotel Colors, near Vatican? I believe it's a hostel as well as a hotel. We were quoted a rate of 115-130EU/night for 2 people in private (hotel) room towards the end of October. Is this a good rate for this hotel? I have no idea, and wonder whether to keep looking or not.

Thanks,
Laura

Good reviews on trip advisor:

You should be able to get a pretty good place for 115 to 130 euro per night though.
