Great location near Rome's Spanish Steps
by NJDivegirl about Hotel Concordia
We spent 4 nights at the Hotel Concordia in Rome. The hotel is conveniently location between the Spagna and Barbarini metro stops, making it easy to arrive from the train station.
The rooms are clean and comfortable with a large (by European standards) bathroom. The front desk staff is very helpful and were able to get us a reservation at one of Rome's hottest Bolognese restaurants!
Breakfast is included in the price and consists of coffee/cappucino/tea, various pastries and cheeses, breads, meats, cereal and yogurts.
This hotel had been recommended to us and we can see why - we would stay here again in a heartbeat! The hotel has a rooftop breakfast area that unfortunately was closed while were were there. The sites from the roof are magnificient and we're hoping when we go back they will have it reopened.
Internet access is available if you have your own laptop in the lobby.
Concordia was fantastic

The Hotel Concordia is a great small family run hotel in the Spagna area of Rome, close to good shopping and restaurants. The friendly owners speak great english and go out of their way to help their guests enjoy their stay with them.
The rooms are small but cosy and very well appointed with everything needed to ensure guests' comfort.
An especially good feature was the separate wardrobes on either side of the beds.
A typical Italian breakfast is available in the downstairs cellar.
We will definately stay here again and highly recommend the Concordia.
Great choice

The Hotel Concordia proved to be a good choice for my family and I. It was our first trip to Italy and we did n't know what to expect. We enjoyed Rome also thanks to our comfortable stay at this hotel.Okay the rooms are not enormous, but they are very clean and kept well. The bathrooms are spacious, clean and bright. The staff proved to be very polite and helpful. The location is very central and in a safe neighborhood. Great base for getting out and about. Everything is so close.
Everything worked and very clean

This is a really wonderful little hotel. Great location - only a 7 or 10 Euro taxi ride from the train station. We really enjoyed our stay at CONCORDIA. rooms comfortable, everything worked and very clean. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. Great choice! Thank you again!
Extremely good for Rome!!!

We enjoyed our time immensly and will not hesitate to return to the Concordia if we return to Rome. Everyone was very friendly and provided us with great information to make our vacation in Rome a huge success. The location was excellent. I would not choose another hotel for my next stay. Price/Quality is extremely good for Rome!!!
Excellent hotel!

We were very warmly welcomed by the owner, who is a most helpful, knowledgeable and charming chap. All the staff are most helpful and pleasant. The hotel itself is warm, comfortable, central, spotlessly clean. The only thing is that the bedrooms are on the small side, but the bathrooms make up for this! Lots of TV channels - an English movie channel, CNN and BBC World suited us fine. The breakfast is a large cold spread laid on in pleasant surroundings. Aside from this there are no facilicities - apart from a mini-bar in the room where everything costs 1 euro! Bargain!
If you come into Rome Airport, get a direct train into the centre of Rome. It is about a 30 minute train journey and would cost you a fair whack in a cab. Take a cab from the station - and pay 7-10 euros. There were guys offering cab rides for 27 euros. Our driver said the ride was metered and there was 8 euros on the meter on arrival at the hotel, he tried to charge us 25 euros! You have been warned!
Just for info. smoking was banned 2 weeks ago in Italy! (as at 7.02.05).

I went to Rome with my wife to watch Ireland play rugby, and stayed at the Concordia. It was a pleasure staying there. The rooms are simple and clean, the location is bang in the centre, and the staff were accomodating and spoke good English.I often travel for rugby matches and consider this hotel value for money.
Fantastico!!!

I cannot speak highly enough of the warm welcome we recieved from the staff in this hotel, the hotel itself is very clean and tidy. The bedrooms are small but adequate and the bathrooms are excellent. The breakfast is continental and the waitress is very kind enough to give Italian language lessons over your croissant. The location is wonderful for exploring all of the sites of Rome. We did not use taxis or buses and walked everywhere. On arrival to Rome, it is quite easy to navigate the underground and if you get off at the piazza spagna spot it is easy to find the hotel if you get the map from the hotels internet site. Rome is a wonderful place and if you are planning a visit this hotel is a perfect base to explore the city.
Perfect Hotel

We stayed here in Feb for four very pleasant nights. It’s central, just a short walk to the Spanish Steps and the Metro, yet it’s on a quiet side street. Everything is clean, the bed comfortable, but it’s the staff that make this Hotel special. Just old-fashioned courtesy and attention to detail, they are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They arranged a car to pick us up at the airport, for 40 Euro, I didn’t fancy struggling with cases during rush hour on the Metro. Getting back to FCO we used the metro/train which was easy, and cost 21 Euro. But most of the time we just walked around Rome, with the odd trip on the Metro when we got too tired. When we return to Rome, we won’t even consider staying in a different, lesser Hotel.
a little noisy .. otherwise perfect ..

.. i chose this hotel coz of the great reviews on here .. the room is basically the bed (lol - bit small, but ur out all day anyway) but once u look around it's all there .. cupboard space, phones, IT plug, desk, TV, mini bar, safe, lights, etc., the bathroom is bright and spacious (hairdryer, courtesy soap, toothbrush, etc), the shower could be a little bigger, but the hotel has definitely been refurbished and is totally up to standards. the personnel is absolutely charming .. the owner himself carried my suitcase to the car and waited on the pavement to wave goodbye !! i paid 145 euro per night for 2 people with breakfast, which i thought was reasonable. CLEAN is a keyword btw .. it was spotless !!
room 203 is on the street side, which was a little noisy at times and i could hear the people in the neighbouring room, who had little respect for time and decibels :(((
reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeal coffee at breakfast too .. centrally located, 7-8 min walk to spanish steps, same to trevi foutain, but we walked all over the place, i was so scared of being ripped off by the taxi men .. in the end we did take a taxi in front of the vatican back to the hotel, i inquired before boarding and the guy was spot on .. 8 euros !!!! hihihi .. walking around rome is great .. coz there are ancient buildings, fountains and nested piazze (e=for plural ? lol) all over the place .. u'd miss half if u travelled on wheels ..
rome is well worth the visit .. although prices are just as high as in any other major city .. i threw my coin into trevi .. and hope to be back .. i'd book into concordia again too !!!
p.s. if u like sushi .. there is a restaurant just down the street from the hotel .. just ask at reception .. ENJOY .. i did !!!!
