La Terrazza restaruant
by TripAdvisor Member MartyMcFly
La Terrazza is the restaurant above Hotel Eden in Rome. It's Michelin star'd and affords great views across the city.
Prices are very high - expect to pay 16E for a pre dinner drink, around 30-40E for a starter and 30E-50E for a main. Wine list is extensive for Italy, but poor selection from elsewhere, and starts at around 20E.
Overall: Service good (as you would expect), food reasonable (considering the price), and the view is great - try to get a seat by the window.
A very good dining experience, but if you're paying 250E+, you would expect a fabulous dining exerience. If they took 25% off the price, this would feel about right v. London standards.

We spent three nights at the Eden Hotel before catching a Seabourn Cruise. This hotel is so wonderfully located... in a matter of minutes you can walk to the Via Veneto, the Spanish Steps or the Villa Borghese Gardens.
The rooms are comfortable, and the staff is very helpful.
The view from the rooftop bar and restaurant is the perfect way to end your day after sightseeing. The prices are high so a drink is the way to go. Visit at sunset the view is worth the $$...

Fabulous Hotel!
Stayed for a weekend and this hotel is truly the best. Location is excellent as it is in the center but still remain quiet. service was very attentive. Dinned in the restaurant and had a wonderfull experience, food was excellent and very well presented with great service and great atmosphere. Beds are very confortable with linen sheets and double pillows. Bathroom was spacious and clean.
i stronlgy recommend this hotel if you are going to Rome either for business or pleasure.
Elegant and Friendly

This hotel is in a quiet neighborhood near the Spanish Steps, easy access to lots of tourist attractions, shopping and restaurants. It is an elegant hotel with extremely attentive staff who made us feel right at home. The restaurant on the sixth floor has a fantastic view of Rome-lovely in the morning for breakfast and in the evening for dinner. The food is excellent, flavorful and fresh. Our room was large and beatifully decorated, very comfortable. The common areas are beautiful and very clean. But the thing that really makes this hotel stand out in my mind is the service.
Everyone was cheerful, helpful, and polite no matter what we were doing or asking of them. Outstanding.
The Eden is no garden

A disappointment. Not only was the room lacking the old world charm we expected, the staff appeared to be in waiting for an arrival from the rich and famous and that perhaps we should have used the employee entrance. Their food and beverage prices make a current SUV fill up at the pump look like a bargain.
not worth the $ at the Eden

OVER-RATED over priced, snobby hotel. great location, right near the via Veneto and the Spanish Steps. Staff looks down on visitors without a Hollywood pedigree. At these prices {$600+ per night per room plus add-ons like $8 for each mini bar candy bar}, one should expect some service, a room larger than a walk in closet, and maybe some working air conditioning.

"secret pearl of Italy"
If you love relaxing on sunny small beaches with cristallin water, and in the evening have dinner in original italian beach restaurant s where grandmother s kitchen is still en vogue, that s your place. The cost is made of beautiful white rocks and small bays.
"Hotel Eden Gigli"
Wonderfully located with a large park and private beach. B&B about E 110,00 for a double room. Food not rely excellent, better go out for dinner.
! reception and hotel entrance close at 10.30 p. m.

Any Advice on the Hotel Eden?
by bb04
Hi there
We're travelling to Italy this weekend and have had to change hotels for part of our stay (due to a major event now being held at our original hotel for the 1st 3 days).
Our original booking was for the Palazzo Della Fonte Hotel in Fiuggi, about an hour away from Rome and we chose it because it's quiet and has beautiful facilities / spa treatments etc. (We're returning visitors having stayed there last year). Since being advised about the possible disruption, however, it's been suggested to us that we stay in Rome for a couple of days instead and we've managed to get booked into the Hotel Eden. Although we hadn't planned on a City hotel or 2 centre holiday this does look like a nice place, and I wondered if anyone has any advice or comments about it? Can anyone recommend the restaurant?
Also, I have a disability which makes walking long-distances difficult; is it expensive to travel to say the Colosseum by taxi or are buses / trains a better option?
Many thanks for your help

you have good taste. the eden is a super and super expensive 5 star hotel 2 blocks from the via veneto and maybe 3-4 blocks to the spanish steps. the rooftop restaurant has a fabulous view of the city, is really highly rated (beyond our budget), and of course costly. the nearest metro stop is barberine, i believe, at least 5-6 blocks away downhill going and uphill returning. No busses in front of this hotel which is on a treelined street. Given the luxury nature of the hotel, I am sure that taxicabs are readiy available right outside the door. Or the concierge will find one really quickly. By the way, using side streets you can reach the main shopping area below the spanish steps without doing the steps and probably a shorter trip as well. Enjoy

You can catch the 110 bus (it is a tourist line) from termini train station. It will cost you just 11 euros (or something like that) to visit all the main spots in the city. You could also decide to stop somewhere and catch the following bus using the same ticket
