HELP - TOURIST INFORMATION IN VIAREGGIO
Hi,
I have everywhere else booked for our holiday and trips around Italy but we plan to stay 3 days on the coast in Tuscany. I am having problems getting accomadations in Viareggio. Could anyone provide me with a phone number or any form of contact with the tourist information office in the town? Many thanks

I love Viareggio - but be forewarned it is the "Riviera" of Italy, and the shops etc are high class boutiques and it is expensive. However, I bought what I needed (there a weird cold spell and I had to go find sweaters) and bought them at Benetton because the other stores were too expensive for my budget. Enjoy!!
Most romantic central hotel in Rome?
Me and my husband are going to visit Rome in May for our first time. We'll spend 4 days (3 nights). We are trying to book a room in a very romantic central hotel in a cost of 120-180 euros per night. Any good ideas?

I don't know how romantic it is, but La Residenza near the Spanish Steps is a very nice hotel. Ask for the room with balcony - it has a huge bathroom, too. They serve lovely breakfasts and the location is very good.

La Residenza (www.hotel-la-residenza.com) is a nice place located about 10 minutes walk from the Spanish Steps. It is rated as 4 star hotel and it should cost not less then 220 euro per night especially considering that May is very high season in Rome.
A 2/3 star hotel or a good B&B might work better for your budget but it will not be easy to find availability and a good rate:

I'm sure you'll find something suitable, Emotions. I stayed there with my husband of many years and it was, as I said, not the most romantic of our Italian hotels but certainly a good one for the money. Look through the suggested hotels for Rome...here on VT. Something might catch your eye. Enjoy the trip!

for under 200 euro you cannot get much in the center of Rome! Perhpas consider easy on the hotel and have a few romantic dinners instead

I've stayed at Hotel Forte and that will be my hotel once again this year. It's within your price range. I don't know about how romantic it might be to you; it's about a block an half from the Spanish Steps, the rooms are pretty nice looking, it is extremely clean, and the service good... that's romantic enough for me. eheheh... :o) Good luck!

Very centrally located and on the Plazz Bernini.It is probably in the 300 euro range. Of course you may find it on a discounted hotel site.
