Lodging in Rome
Would anyone know lodging in Rome comparable to The Beehive or Cross-Pollinate. They seem booked up for second week of April.

You culd try Colors (a hostel near St. Peters). But seeing as you're heading to Rome over Easter, you may have a hard time.
Last year, I found and Easter-weekend room for my friends at the Hotel Galatea (check out the Lonely Planet guide if you can't find it online). The price was about 30 euros per person but was the ONLY thing available in that range. It's a nice hotel, near the train station, clean, and the people are friendly.

Budget Accommodation Rome
My husband and I are looking for good budget accommodation in Rome for 3 nights - preferably double room (private bathroom optional), clean, well located to tourist sites. Any advice appreciated.

My wife and I reccomend calling "Marco" ... he helped us out while we were in Rome. He came highly recomended on the Rick Steves web site, and we tried to stay with him, but we gave him too short notice.

Hotel Galatea is located very near the train station and is clean and nice. A double room was approx 60 Euros in April.

Budget Hotel?
Hi, im looking for a Budget Hotel in the city centre just walking distance from the attractions ive seen some near termini area is that area good as in safe? any hotel sugestions? many thanks

Try Hotel Galatea - it's near the station and all the sites and was very inexpensive - we found an opening Easter weekend. It's in the Lonely PLanet guide and you should be able to find it online as well.

We were in Rome in October and stayed at the San Remo. It is just a few blocks from the train station, we had no problems at all. There were six of traveling together, so maybe it would be different if it were just one. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was fine too, meats,cheeses, creal, pastry, etc.
The rooms were in some need of updating but the price was right and all we were doing was sleeping there. Have a great time.

I forgot, we either walked to things from the San Remo or took the train. There are also some great little places to eat close by.
