This was a great little hotel in an excellent part of Rome - we could walk everywhere from here, even to the Vatican. The rooms are small, the showers VERY small but we were lucky to have a bigger corner room with a two windows. (the first smaller room we had had water coming through the ceiling and the electrics went off). The shower was very small and was a big of a struggle but the room was very clean and bed comfortable. We did have to ask for extra pillows and a blanket as it was very cold at night, but this was no problem and were in the room when we came back.
There were many lovely restaurants in the local area which seemed to have a mixture of tourists and locals - and were not overpriced like in some of the more touristy places.
The staff were all friendly and the breakfast was very good with lovely coffee - i would definately recommend, and would stay here again.
Unique Quality: 10 minutes walk from Termini - walking distance from all sites so excellent location. Hotel has a lovely rooftop terrace which has lovely views over Rome.
We took a private transfer from the airport to our hotel and I think the trip was a lot longer if we had taken the Leonardo Express train and then the metro. I'm not sure whether it was true or not, but according to the tourist office at the airport train station, there a public transportation strike in Rome on the day we arrived, so they advised us taking the private transfer...
Anyway, the hotel looks exactly as their website photos, however our room was another story. We did ask for a calm room, so we can't complain about it, however there was a huge stain (see picture below) on the ceiling probably from a water leak (leakage) and the room had no direct sunlight, so it was a bit dark and cold during the day. Apart from the ceiling stain, the room and bathroom were clean. Yes, the room was small as most people have noted in past reviews. The bathroom had a decent size and luckily, it had a bathtub instead of those tiny showers. However there was no heat there and during winter, you should better bring your bathrobe.
Breakfast was complimentary and we were happy with it. Of course, I would have prefered more choices of breads (salty) but the selection was more than enough for a short stay. If you'd like to have tea or cappuccino, you have to order it with the waiter, otherwise, there's only hot coffee, cold milk and juices available.
The location is great, just a few blocks from the Coliseum and 50 metres away from the nearest metro station (Cavour).
