I would not recommend the Hotel King in Via Sistina Rome to anyone. Our room had tape on the wall underneath the window to close two large holes approx. 15 cm in diameter. The shower was the worst I have seen in years. Mould all over, the shower curtain was so filthy, the shower tray was blocked. The sink was chipped all over. When we complained at reception we were told to do it in writing. So here it is.
Unique Quality: Very central . That was it.
Directions: Close to the Spanish Steps
I would not recommend this hotel, though it is in the perfect location for staying in Rome, being within easy walking distance of the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. We stayed there in October. The rooms were extremely basic, badly in need of redecoration and the cistern on the toilet dripped directly onto the bathroom floor. It was a very basic hotel and certainly not what you might expect from *** accomodation in Britain. Having been to Italy on numerous occasions I now know its worth booking **** accomodation in order to get a decent place to stay. My daughter had her mobile phone stolen from the room whilst we were at the Hotel King, something which the staff had no interest in whatsoever. I would not recommend this hotel, but being in the perfect location for seeing Rome I would definitely suggest finding somewhere close to this location.
Unique Quality: In a noisy street, poor facilities and extremely basic. We enjoyed Rome but would never return to stay at this run down, tired, and drab hotel.
i had a lovely time at this cheap and cheerful 3 star hotel in Rome - it is located very near the Spanish Steps which is the ideal spot from where to enjoy most of Rome's main tourist attractions - we booked directly with the hotel as they guaranteed us their best available rate.
Unique Quality: superb location
Directions: Spanish Steps
Although you will probably pass it by the first time, because the entrance doesn´t really stick out, you will surely find your way home the next time. The hotel (***) is ideally situated between Via Veneto and the Spanish Steps and can be reached easily by metro if you get out at Piazza Barberini. The rooms are simple, but good (the bed is very good!) and if you´re on one of the upper floors you will not have much noise troubles (traffic etc.) at night.
Unique Quality: The breakfast is not really great, I must tell you that ,and dinner is no option, but overall it´s a great place to start your daily tours from. Walk, walk, walk and take a hot bath at the end of the day...
Directions: District Piazza di Spagna
The King hotel is in one of the best locations in Rome with old and in traditional style buliding, located between the Spanish steps and piazza Barberini.
This Hotel is old and in traditional style and well maintained.
Unique Quality: There are good bus connections to all parts of the city nearby. An easy walk to just about everywhere.
