Felt like staying with family!

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on November 18, 2014

Since we were spending quite a few nights in Rome, we were looking for a comfortable, inexpensive place to stay, and that's exactly what we found at Hotel Lussemburgo! Our room was located on the top floor of the hotel - it was very clean and although it wasn't very large, it was about the size we've grown used to in Europe. One thing I really appreciated was how well the shower worked - plenty of pressure and hot water! The free wi-fi and A/C also worked really well. The neighborhood looked a but dicey, but I always felt very safe. There wasn't much to see or do near the hotel, but its location was central enough to make it easy to get around on foot, by metro or tram. Our hosts were incredibly nice and friendly and although we didn't speak a word of Italian, that didn't stop them from talking to us and making us feel very welcome. I very much enjoyed the selection of pastries that was offered for breakfast, which was always complemented with juice and coffee or tea, cheese, tomatoes, cold cuts and, my favorite, a very tasty zucchini omelette! So all in all, while it's nothing fancy, Hotel Lussemburgo definitely ia a great place to stay without breaking the bank!

Directions: On the edge of the Esquiline, near Termini train station
