Roman roads
by croisbeauty
Romans were the first who understood the importance of ground connections between the places and the people. Thanks to their very skillfull road constructors, the city of Rome was connected to all parts of a huge imperia, what helped them alot in controlling the territory and developing the commerce. Most of this roads still exist but today we know them as A1, A4 etc., being part of the highway network throughout Italy. In ancient Roman times this roads were known as Via Appia, Via Julia, etc.

A charming and favorite restaurant
by josiebella about Enoteca La Bevatoria, Piazza Navona
I have been going to this restaurant for nearly 8 years and have always had a fantastic evening and have never had a bad meal. I always get a warm welcome from the owner and the waiters who remember me every time.. The food had always been excellent and the ambience is typically Italian with all the buzz of the Piazza, street artists and candle light. I will always return here each time I come back to this amazing city and contrary to other opinions I would never hesitate in recommending this to anyone going to Rome. From the menu I would hightly recommend starting with the house antipasta - fantastic meats, cheese and roasted vegetables, breads and oils. Also try the Risotto Fungi its depth of flavor is wonderful. Finally steak with pepper corns.. mmmmmm.
Major gelato variety at a good price
by Packerman about Hmmmm?
Of all the gelato shops I frequented while visiting Rome this one had the most variety at very good prices, not to mention it was very close to our apartment. Seriously, it was very creamy and there was so much variety that I still didn't get to taste every flavor during my TWO weeks there. I can't remember all the flavors, but my favorites were the tirumisu and coffee flavors.
