We got this hotel on wotif.com for about 75 euro a night with breakfast and we were happy with it for that price. It was newly renovated and spotlessly clean. The shower was amazing - gushing jets of hot water - this is not always encountered in hotels in Italy. Strange towels though - more like tablecloths. Some of the staff were a bit offish. And they have a nicely appointed lounge in the foyer - but if you are planning to sit and read late at night because you are afflicted with jetlag you will make the night porter very unhappy. He turns the lights off and kips on the sofa. Nowhere to smoke at all except on the street or just outside the hotel doors. Very annoying for a smoker. TV and mini bar. Rooms are quite small. Breakfast is just pitiful - nothing savoury at all. Not a hard boiled egg, not a slice of cheese. I got quite grumpy. It's not close to anything though. Except Porta Maggiore - which Matthew called the Roundabout Of Death. Trams buses cars trucks scooters hurtling around and criss crossing - what terror. And not many cafes or restaurants around. It's a hotel that is kind of marooned nowhere.
The worst thing is it is just too far to walk from Termini - and the first part of the street is rather unsavoury. It would be scarey at night. There are buses and trams that come down a parallel street - but that would be hard to work out when you first arrive.
