The hotel's location was better than I anticipated so I was really pleased. Who goes to Rome just to hang out in the hotel anyway. So what if the furnishings were below my standards. The hotel is just five minutes from the Santa Maggiore Church and the train station. This latter fact was very helpful for planning my whole trip. The Trevi Fountain, The Roman Forum and the Colisseum were all just a kilometer away. There are also lots of reasonably priced but good restaurants in the vicinity. Perhaps most importantly there are two great pubs, the Fiddler's Elbow and the Druid's Den, just two blocks away.
