advice!!
hi guys, i'm going to Rome on the 30-6-07 to get married..
i would appreciate any info on restaurants,travel, nightlife and anything else that will be of assistance.
I'm getting married in the Irish college and the hotel is the villa patrizi in the city centre.
please advise

Congratulations, Brian ol' boy!
You have wisely sorted out where you were getting married first, and I assume that the guys at the Irish college will help you handle the paperwork and whatnot...too often we see postings from people who suddenly decided that they needed to get married in Rome, have bought plane tickets and made hotel reservations, and then think to ask what the process is to get married...;-)
I will note that the Villa Patrizi - which I confess to have never seen - is not exactly in the city center. Looking at its address, it appears to be just outside the Porta Pia a little less than a kilometer northeast of Stazione Termini (the main train station), which is itself on the east edge of the Imperial City.
I am splitting hairs here, since the hotel is clearly IN the city of Rome, and well within the very good public transit system in Rome, but it's not exactly the city center, as defined by the Aurelian Walls. One reason that is important is that the taxi fares from the two airports are now fixed rate - but only to locations inside the Aurelian Walls (see http://www.comune.roma.it/was/repository/ContentManagement/node/N183383046/confini.pdf for a map)...and you're about 50 meters on the wrong side...so if you taxi in, you'll be on the meter...(oh well)...actually, a number of people here use limo services to pick them up at the airport (search in the Rome forum for "limo").

Congratulations. As to what to see and do I recommend you page through the VT Tips on Rome, this should give you a good knowledge of what is available. I do not know what you and your bride like, however I am certain you will have a fabulous time.
