Rome is neverendless discovery...
by vysnaite
I've been to Rome two times, once in 2002 January for 3days (hated Rome), second 2003 January for one Week (LOVED ROME!:)). The more you stay in Rome, the more you see. In every street you go, with every single lift of your glance up, or down. Few days is not enough for Rome, also a week is too little. Wonderful fountains, architecture, stories, small pleasant particularities... a lovely place to be. I loved fountains, obeliscs especially one in particular with the elephant, fouintains, Jewish quaters, a walk IN Fori Imperiali, manifestation and great athmosphere with wonderful people.
Haircut
by Jmill42
Unless you are planning to cut your own hair or are married to a barber/stylist, you should check out this place, and its barber Antonio Burdino. First, the he is a famous, white-haired gentleman that was on the front of a Roman magazine that was at most of the monuments I saw. Second, it is the coolest haircut I have ever recieved. I have my hair short, always. He uses no clippers, just his very sharp and pointy scissors clipping at a rate that you think not possible and he gets it just as short and straight as any clipper. I was so impressed by his skills, well, that I had to write a tip on it!
Take my word for it, if you need a haircut, GO HERE!!

Fiumicino Terminal Number System
by icunme
The ADR has RE-Numbered all the terminals at FCO. And somehow they’ve made it more confusing than before...........
On the night of 10/24 a small “army” of engineers and workers took to the field to change the signs of the terminal, roads, car parks and in all areas open to the public.
The change in signage was designed both to rationalize the existing situation and to realign the signs to the situation as regards the designation of the Terminal, the big international airports. The new nomenclature of reference for the system of the terminals has been determined:
Terminal A is renamed Terminal 1 (T1)
Terminal AA is renamed Terminal 2 (T2)
Terminals B and C (now merged) are renamed Terminal 3 (T3)
Terminal subsidiary sensitive flight is confirmed Terminal 5 (T5)
If you have entered Italy through FCO customs before, you will now be entering from customs into TERMINAL 3. Everyone on your flight exits the same way, so just follow the stampede. Continue directly ahead to the street exit. If you are taking the Leonardo Expess, cross the street - look up to your left and you will see what looks like a white glass overpass. There is the train platform for the Leonardo Express - it is very well marked.
Leonardo Express direct train service runs every 30 minutes to Rome's central rail station (Stazione Termini; www.trenitalia.com) between 6:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. That service costs 11€ and tickets must be stamped before you board the trains on the platform's validating machines.
a small corner cafe
by uglyscot about Happy bar
This little restaurant is quite busy in the evening with locals , but less crowded at lunchtime. It was close to our hotel so I often popped in. It's nothing startling but convenient and the food is acceptable. The past a dishes are good.
I had pasta, chicken and a bottle of water for 7.50 euros
