Neighborhoods of Rome
by Pawtuxet
Walking in the neighborhoods, we encountered several homes we found striking in their colors. So much so, that my daughter later used some of these colors when she painted her apartment. I notice how the stucco buildings can look so different in each country...using the method of building because of the climate..and yet differing greatly in their detailing and colors.
Santa Maria in Trastevere
by agarcia
One of the most beautiful churches in Rome, is Santa Maria in Trastevere. Located on the heart of the Trastevere neighborhood, it still has it original Romanesque stile, with a precious 12th-century mosaic in the front.
In the inside, you could admire the impressive wooden ceiling and the intense feeling of great devotion that fills the church
A Glass of Wine
by Marilyn18 about Vineria
The Vineria is a outdoor winebar on the Campo de' Fiori. If you're more into having a glass of good Italian wine that partying with Americans and hard shots on the rocks, then this is the perfect place to go.
People who go here are basicly adults or the jeunesse dor?e. Well, a little less skin, a little more Armani and you're fine!
Roman cooking at excellent Trattoria
by Fizzyblond about Nuova Stella
Beautifully decorated and arched ceilinged restaurant, which has been in family hands for over 40 years. Lovely service, extensive Roman style menu and an excellent variety of dishes, wine cellar. We had a special Birthday meal and dined on the veal and the Carbonara - with extra treats from the Chef!
All the waiters and staff are attentive, and speak excellent English but also appreciate my pathetic attempts at their beautiful language! I returned several times to sample the dessert menu and just enjoyed the whole atmosphere.
Beautiful View of the City
by jhoolko
For the most incredible view of the city, walk up the Spanish Steps, through all the tourists. When you get to the top, take a left and walk along the road until you see a ramp on the right side of the road that will take you up to the stunning Villa Borghese Park. Once you've walked to the top of the ramp, you should be able to see all of the city on your left, including the large dome of St. Peter's. Once you've enjoyed the view, be sure to ramble into Villa Borghese for a relaxing stroll through the park.
