Central accomodation

I am taking a trip to Rome with my family, my husband, son(12) and daughter(8) in December and was wondering if anyone had heard of Navona Suites? Or if they have any experience with them? The rates look good but I would like some first hand knowledge! Any suggestions?

My wife and I have stayed at the Navona Suites and thoroughly enjoyed the location, the suite (Bernini), the owner and his brother-in-law, a dentist from the USA. We second the recommendation above.
Giampiero, Anna & Dennis are more like hosts to their guests. They are wonderful.
We rented the Bernini & Borromini Suites for 2 weeks and were well pleased.
The location could not be more convenient for central Rome sight seeing & the neighborhood is delightful. You are close to markets, restaurants, laundromats, pizza stores, clothing stores, SIM card stores, buses, cabs & historical churches and sites.
You will have a wonderful time

New Years Celebration

I was in Rome for the New Years celebration and you must be prepared during that evening and the days leading up to it for people around any corner to be exploding loud firecrackers.

Some members of my group and I joined the thousands of Romans and others who were in the Piazza de Republica for a celebration of 50 years of Rock n Roll. Live tribute bands and cheap bottles of wine defined this experience. It was an awesome experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who is in Rome at the start of a new year.

I'm not sure if the location of the celebration changes each year...but I do believe the theme changes.

Mother Teresa's Home in Rome

We were honored to be able to have a glimpse into the remarkable life of Mother Teresa. The Convent that houses the Sisters of Charity of Calcutta is within the confines of the Church of San Gregorio (near Circus Maximus). Here is the inside the small, sparce "cell" that was Mother Teresa's room. We are working on an album that will show more of her days in Rome.

Buses and underground

Tickets for buses and underground are only E0.77 and valid for 75 minutes on a one way journey. As such day or week tickets are usually not worth it: There are so many attractions in Rome that you will probably spend a lot of time walking from one attraction to the next and avail of public transport only once, maybe twice a day. Public transport is available from around 05:00 until shortly after midnight in very regular intervals.

Remember: You will need to purchase your tickets at a ticket machine or a tobacco store PRIOR to your journey. Once inside the public transport you will need to STAMP the tickets.

Ristorante Monserrato - on Via...

Ristorante Monserrato - on Via Monserrato 5 minutes South West of Piazza Campo de'Fiori. Excellent fish/pasta restaurant.
Great place for lunch/dinner. We had a 3 hour lunch in there on Sunday! We had started (prawn cocktail - best I've ever had), followed by sea food pasta, and then king prawns. I'd pass on the creme brulee! The food/service and atmosphere was great. We were the only tourists there.

Colosseo

Colosseo (aka Colisseum) one of the famous structure in Rome, would definitely also a must see.

Having to look at Colosseo from outside is enough rather spending extra money about €8 just to look at inside of it.

Best way to get to Colosseo by metro at Colosseo stn via (Metro Line B). The moment getting out from the station, Colosseo would just right in front of you standing still, waiting to be explore.
