I actually did an acrylic painting when I was 15, with the she-wolf and the twin boys in the thick of the forest, and the fable written in calligraphy beneath it.
Can't show it here as it is in South Africa.
So how does the story go? I could write it out here, but found this superb little child-illustrated rendiiton of it at the website below. Very nice :)
This stone rendition of Remus (photo) was one of the artworks found on a pillar, in a spontaneous exhibition of outdoor artwork at the Mausoleum of Augustus, near the Tavere/Tiber River.
Basically, the artist had done a few pieces like this, laid them out on the pillars of a wall beside a road, and this one caught my eye.
A lovely little outdoor gallery, well worth a visit if you can find him! :)
