by dharmabum222

I am looking for a recommendation for a restaurant or trattoria that is open for dinner on a Sunday in Rome. Thank you!

Travel Tips for Rome

Start your excursion from the ...

by maxovna

Start your excursion from the SQUARE of ST. GIOVANNI DI LATERANO, explore it and go to watch the COLOSSEUM, where gladiators' fights and animals' persecution took place. Then go to the SQUARE of EMPERORS' FORUMS, that used to be religious and political centre. Nowadays you'll se just ruins. Pay attention to TRAJAN COLUMN erected to commemorate the emperor's victory over enemies. Then go to the central square of Rome - the VENICE SQUARE with the majestic white PALACE of VICTOR EMMANUIL II, the kings who united Italy. Have a walk along the embankment of the TIBER and admire the CASTLE of SAINT ANGEL. The ROMAN PANTHEON also deserves your attention due to its history and architecture. In Rome I was struck by three things: firstly I always felt as if I got into the school history textbook, secondly the quantity of Egyptian Columns in Rome is surprisingly high - 13; thirdly - the architectural beauty of Roman fountains - Trevi in baroque (see the picture), the Fountain of Four Rivers in Piazza Navona. Each statue on latter fountain embodies one of the greatest rivers - the Nile, the Danube, the Ganges and the Rio-de-la Plato.

But as I don't have the Italian standard size (I guess 41 is much to large for female Italian feet) I have saved lots of money.

Many shoe shops were along the Via Nazionale

If you are already in Italy:...

If you are already in Italy: trains are cheap and alright. Europe: depens on where you are busses is the cheapest way to travel. Planes from destinations in Europe leave regular and the trip doesn't take that much time (Amsterdam-Rome= 2,45 hours)The main airport is Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumincino Airport. The second airport is Ciampino. Trains go to the centre via the airport station.
If you like to play dangerous: rent a car or vespa. If you like your life: go for the public transportation. The busses, trams and trains are cheap and good. Take a day/week card. Nightbusses depart regular.

Pazzo for Pasta

by nicolettart about L'Archetto

This restaurant has the biggest selection of pasta dishes that I have ever seen. I tried the Quattro Stagioni with four cheeses, and it was good, not great. I would definitely give it a second chance, maybe I ordered the wrong thing? There were so many choices, you need to invest serious time in reading the menu.
